Greetings folks,
We have 3 full grown cats, two are older (about 9 +/- 6 months) and one is much younger, roughly 1.5 years. They have all gotten along REASONABLY well and all been eating since we added the 1.5 year old about 9 months ago.
Recently we volunteered to care for two small kittens (about 9-10 weeks old) for a short time (they leave tomorrow; we'll have had them about 10 days).
The younger cat has had no problem with the new kittins - initially some hissing, but after a day or two, he just looks at them as if they were amusing to him and doesn't otherwise touch them.
The two older cats have, in the past few days, refused to eat. One refuses to eat entirely, the other - who was eating a full can of food each day - is probably eating about 1/4 of a can per day now. The other has outright stopped eating. We gave him several different types of food and the only thing he's made any signs of interest for is the broth with things like "9 Lives" or "Friskies" foods (not their regular diet). Everything else, he just ignores.
Obviously, we're going to be bringing him to a vet in a day or two, but I was hoping some people here might have some suggestions.
(The kittens are presumably healthy; they were from a litter that a friend's indoor cat had, so odds of disease would seem to be low).
