What is a fatty lump? she's 5 and a half months, when i touch it, it wobbles like jelly and it kinda hangs down a tiny bit when she stands up

A fatty lump is a small deposit of fat between the muscle and the skin. My old kitty, Disco (RB) had quite a few of them and we were told that as they didn't bother her - they could just stay! My Auntie's dog also has them!

By your description, it could be a cist (sp?) and that would just need to be drained - so that it collapses on itself (I've had a number of these!
)

and an abcess ususally just requires antibiotics! (I've had these too!)

I am sure it won't be anything serious!

Please try not to worry, Anassa will be fine!

Kind of sounds like an abcess Chuckie had a few months ago, it was a bit soft.
I couldn't get a vet appointment right away, had to wait a nerve wracking 3 days! It was just about gone by the time he finally got to the appointment. The vet said it was probably caused by a scratch from one of the other kitties.

Sending good vibes Anassa's way.

Thankyou all so much for your support and kind words, Anassa is still fine, she isn't acting different or seem to be in discomfort, i'm sure she has just scratched herself and it has turned into an abscess or something, i will be keeping a close eye on her just incase, hopefully it will just start going down.

i have a tendancy to worry and overreact when something happens to one of my fubabies because i love them so much, i also worry because the vert is a two and a half hour drive away.

Thankyou all again

love,

felicia

I think we all worry a little too much when it comes to our furbabies! I am just the same!

I am sure that everything will be okay!
You will let us know how it goes though, won't you!

Good luck and i'm sending some 'not to worry' }}}VIBES{{{ to you!

Now there's a scary thought!

i actually have no idea how big she will be she's half English pointer and half Wolfhound, apparently she's as big as a full grown pointer already so i think she will be kinda big, not sure if she will reach wolfhound size though.

So far out in left field I got lost
Since the Wolfhound is the tallest of all the hounds it's probable that Anassa will get to be as big. Lucky you
I do hope that Anassa will be fine once you get to the vet's office. Let us know how she is as soon as you can.

my Husband and i only got three hours sleep last night, me because of worrying too much and my husband because of me wanting to talk

we left for the vet at 6am and got there at 8.30, after the horrible night i had, the vet just looked at her and said 'oh, this kind of thing happens all the time and is harmless' he then drained it and gave us some special needles so we can do it ourselves if it swells up again, only because we live so far away, he said it should just go but if it doesn't we will need to take her back to have a drain put in.

it cost $60 which is nothing but for what he did i thought it was pathetic and he was not a very nice vet, not like the one i went to down south where we used to live

but, she is fine, i just thought i'd let you all know and she has a huge bag of smoked pork bones, two bags of lamb offcuts and numerous beef rawhide bones to keep her happy, now i'm the one in need of rest lol, i'm sooooo tired and nassa is running around like nothing happened

i'd do it a thousand times over though, it just isn't worth the risk of something happening to her, same goes for all my furbabies.

Anassa is such a beautiful dog! She reminds me of a Great dane.. heck :p Maybe you could start a pointer/wolfhound mix and make a breed of Mini-danes.. ok.. maybe not so mini.. I thnk it would be cute to have a great dane the size of a miniature pinser/pincher/pinsher/pincer

I'm glad it turned out to be nothing. I know how it feels to have that kind of worry, and I know how releived it feels to find out it was a minor problem. She is adorable by the way.

awww thankyou! i'll let her know what you said, it will make her day

she is a nice mix, iv'e never seen a mix like hers before, when my husband and i saw her in the pet store it was love at first site, those sad eye's, big floppy ears

it would take time to get the breed going, some would turn out shaggy like the wolfhound
, funny thing is, we have had a few compliments on how she looks, have to be careful she doesn't get a big head....i'm just soooooo glad she's okay, bonnie doesn't look happy she's back though!

here's a few photo's i took of her a few minutes ago.

she loves lamb offcuts and pig ears the best, she has a best friend called max, he's a lab cross rotweiler, she bosses him around all the time. she's started to hide her bones so he can't find them when he visits and will hide them right in front of him then gaurd them, she never used to bury her stuff before but recently when i give her bones she will spend a few hours finding suitible places to hide them, she even steals maxes treats. we had him stay for three nights and everytime i gave them both a bone she would steal his, then when he went to get her bone she'd want that one instead

she loves him though, we will have him for a week soon, his mum is going away to see family, max has fun but when he's first dropped off he gets very sooky, i'll post some pics of them together in a minute.

sorry for the long post, i could talk all day about my furbabies lol

Felicia! I just saw this!

I am so glad that everything went well for Anassa!
See, there was nothing to fret about!

I just hope that you are able to get some rest now! That's all good - so long as Anassa isn't on your back again!

Thankyou Hope,

i really apprecated everyone's support yesterday, it amazed me just how much it cheered me up and actually made me feel so much better.

here are the pics of nassa with her best friend

nassa with her favorite toy, a now very stinky pooh bear.

and one of nassa and max when she was about 3 and a half months old

as you can probably tell, i'm a photo taking fanatic
there is always something one of them does that is deserving of a photo, at least i think so anyway.
