I've been laid off since Jan 1st and have been doing odd cleaning jobs for my aunt susan around her house for gas money.. Its been horrid!!! I hate not having money!! lol Sooo friday my aunt gretchen called and said the store where she works needed a data entry person ASAP because the girl that had the job just up and left! Sooo She told me to come in monday and talk to her boss. Well I went in yesterday and talked to her and it was more me interviewing her!! She told me all I'd have to be doing (which isnt just data entry its more accounts payable!) and basically just said when she was done "So do you want it?" lol Its full time 8-430 monday thru friday, and the 7 mojor holidays off. I'll be getting $7 an hour to start, then she said i can bicker with her. Full benefits after 90 days and 401k after a year! I'm sooo excited! I just hope that I like it! It seems like it will get real old quick. lol Does anyone else do this kind of work?? Ill be sharing an air conditioned office with one other woman (who didnt seem too friendly, I sure hope I'm wrong!!) have my own desk/computer and everything. I can basically wear whatever I want as long as "I'm neat, clean and it doesnt look too slutty" lol Jeans, shorts, skirts... im so glad because Im not much for dressing up alllll day lol I can eat and drink at my desk all day if i want as long as i get my work done. I'll be using QuickBooks which I don't know ANYTHING about but she's going to train me. I start June 20th when she gets back from vacation. Send me vibes that all of this goes over well!
I'm pretty good with saving money and now i can save for that Sony 828 digital camera Ive been wanting since it came out! I'm just sad becasue I won't get to be with my kitties all day.
Finnegan really misses me when I'm not home. I'll definately be framing pics of them and John for my desk! Ahhhh anyway I'm rambling now! lol Thanks for reading!!!

How great! After so long without a job, I'm sure you can put up with a little crankiness from your office mate, if needed. Congrats! Full benefits is great!

Lol yea.. I dont think I have to talk to her about anything anyway since she has a totally different job. Im really excited about the full benefits since I have a mild case of cerebral palsy and need to see a podiatrist and chiropracter!

I do a *little* work like that. I can use quickbooks. Depends on what you need to do with it as to how hard it is. Most of it is pretty easy. Some of it is astoundingly confusing.

Congratulations and good luck!

So far out in left field I got lost
Hey Stacy Congrats on the new job. Yeah sometimes this kind of work gets old but I have found that even after 5 years doing this kind of work I still love the job. Quickbooks.....You will love the program. IMO it is the best software for doing any and all aspects of a companies financials.

If you ever need any help with Quickbooks just let me know.

Congratulations!

Even if you decide down the road that your co-worker is annoying and that the job gets boring, you will have made $$ in the mean time, and it's easier to get a job when you are working. Not to mention that it is something else to put on your resume. I hope it all works out for you!
