Barbara Walters didn't like seeing breastfeeding - Page 3

I live in a city of over 8 million. I doubt that I could fill one hand with the number of women breast feeding who were acting innapropriately. That includes, the subway, buses, parks, malls or waiting rooms, etc.

I've seen a lot of women breastfeed. At work, at my house, at my friend's houses, etc etc and I've never once seen a nipple! I don't know where all these ladies are who are ripping off their shirts and exposing their breasts to the wind, but I've never seen it. Every single one of my friends who has children has breastfed and I've watched them do it countless times- the only thing I've seen is a little cleavage and a baby's round little head.

There are a lot of people who gross me out while eating (trust me, I work at a restaurant) and I would give just about anything to force them to eat in a restroom. A baby however should not be eating anywhere where billions of tiny germs float through the air and essentially right into their meal. Anyone ever watch those shows that tell you to keep your toothbrush in your medicine cabinet because the exposure to floating fecal matter after the toilet is flushed basically coats everything in your bathroom?

Burping towels and babies heads cover up plenty, most of the time a burping towel isn't even needed.

Maybe more malls need a nice ladies room with an area separate from the toilets, with couches like LS Ayers has.

I believe the reason Barbara Walters and her friend we uncomfortable was because the woman did not cover herself. No one is saying most women breastfeed uncovered. It was just THIS particular woman. I live in a large city myself. Los Angeles isn't a village, and I can say that I haven't seen anything like that myself, except at my brother and his ex wife's home, and she breastfed her baby without covering up, in the privacey of their own home. I wasn't too comfortable with that. I wished at the time that she would have covered up.

Hoardes of lactating women come out at night and stalk the streets of major cities, small towns, villages and hamlets all over the world. They brazenly whip their mammary glands out, with a force that could knock the wind out of a 180 pound man...sending him into the air and causing whiplash! And those nipples..don't get me started on them!

I dont care if women whip out their boobs to feed their babies - its only natural and I divert my eyes out of respect.

And I went to New Orleans last February for the Mardi Gras - tell me, how does flashing your boobs for beads make it any different?? I certainly saw all kinds - small, large, saggy, perky, you name it, I saw it.

I would rather feed my baby instead of letting it cry in public. But unfortunately I am one of those that are actually allergic to breastfeeding, believe it or not - if I breastfeed, I come up in this horrendous rash from my waist down - the hormone that is released when the baby is sucking on the nipple is what causes it and is what I am allergic to - Barbara, you probably know the name of it, I don't. I had to relunctantly bottle feed my son when I couldn't bear the rash, it was beyond itchy and I just couldn't handle it.

Wow, Kellye, I honestly never hear of that...it must have broken your heart to stop, but boy I sure can see why you did.

And you sure are right about Mardi Gras...I forgot about that!!!

Kiwideus,

My mom had the same thing, only it also made her bleed. That is one thing I would hate to have happen.

I see nothing wrong with what Barbara Walters said, I have no problem with women breastfeeding but I would prefer not to see it done.
