So our husky Isis got brave this morning, she discovered she could jump the gate that keeps her and Athena out of the living room. But i dont think she will be doing it again anytime soon...

You see Jellie, known also as Puppy cat has always been picked on by the dogs. they want to play with her, and are very admit about it..she usually puts up with it and slinks away....

well today when Isis marched herself into the living room......Jellie went POSTAL...hissing and Flailing she backed our 30lb (and growing) Husky into the gate and made her cower...

I had been showeing but heard the fuss and came out, got isis out of the living room, made sure there was no damage...(she was fine) and prodceded to laugh..

She hasnt gone within 5 feet of the gate since..

Sounds like Jellie showed Isis who's boss in THAT house! Good for her. Glad Isis survived the ordeal without injury.

I always get a charge out of kitties telling dogs twice their size where to go. (Sorry, doggies, but as long as it's only your pride that gets hurt, it truly is funny!)

Living in the land of not enough time
Something similar happened to my sister's dog when he was a pup and I was house-sitting. Duke was a half shepard/half irish setter mix, so even as a puppy he was pretty big. He loved to try and play with the 2 cats by chasing them. Georgie was his favorite target since she would run. Well, one day, he cornered Georgie. George decided she wasn't going to take it anymore and boxed his nose at least 20 times in less than a minute. (She was declawed) Her sister Tiffany decided she didn't like Georgie cornered so she jumped into the fray and got poor Duke from behind. She wasn't declawed but didn't do any real damage.

The poor pup started yelping, ran into the bedroom and JUMPED into bed with me. After having a 40lb puppy land on your stomach, you sort of automatically sit up, and he hid behind me. The cats weren't chasing him, but he took no chances.

That story reminds me of a friend's dog many years ago.

P had a Briard (Perse) -- large French sheepdog, quite placid. Mutual friend L had a golden lab cross (Barney) and a tortie kitty (Willy). When P visited L, Perse accompanied him, and was welcomed by Barney and ignored by Willy.

A bunch of us were at L's place one evening. P was seated in the corner of an L-shaped sofa, blocked in by a large coffee table, and Perse was ambling around, as was her wont. She passed by the rocking chair opposite P, where Willy was having a snooze, and absently sniffed. In the blink of an eye, Willy was awake, and Perse was yelping and flying across the coffee table into P's lap. Only her pride was hurt, and I never laughed so hard in my life! And Willy just curled up and went back to sleep.
