I can't believe this!!!!!!!!!
Most of my cats LOVE the toothpaste I got for them! I bought a cat toothbrush/paste kit over a year ago and kept meaning to try to clean my cats teeth but haven't gotten my nerves up to try that until last nite.

I thought I'd start real easy and let them taste the paste first then eventually hopefully get them to let me brush their teeth. Well, to my surprise, Spikey LOVED the paste. He was going crazy over it and when I pulled the toothbrush away to put more paste (malt tasting) on it, he was doing everything possible to get to that toothbrush!
When I tried to give it to Buddy, Spikey kept shoving his head in and pushing Buddy away so HE could get to the paste. I ended up having to hold Spikey to my chest while holding the toothbrush with paste on it out for Buddy to lick.

Spikey actually let me brush his teeth last nite with it (he was busy trying to lick while I was brushing his teeth) and it was HILARIOUS! I WISH I could videotape it then post it here for u to see. I'm serious- I kept laughing my head off last nite and tonite at these dorks!

Tonight, I tried again and the minute I brought out the kit, Bud and Spikey were going crazy!
Finally got Zebra to taste it and now Zebra likes it. Buddy and Spikey kept trying to butt in while poor Zebra was trying to lick the paste. I had to keep pushing them away from Zebra so she could taste the paste in PEACE.
Tango isn't sure yet and Peppy won't come near it!
I will give them more time. If this continues, I think I will have to start brushing their teeth one by one ALONE in a room without other cats swarming all over me trying to get to the brush/paste!

Has this happened to YOUR cats??? Or is it just my cats being freaky??????????

My cats didn't take to it nearly that fast, but eventually I had them lining up at the bathroom door to take their turns. Yes, that malt-flavored toothpaste must be pretty tasty to them. I tried it (also the poultry-flavored toothpaste -- which isn't), and I didn't much care for it, myself.

I don't know what's sold for toothpaste in Germany, or what's in it, but here in the U.S. most human toothpaste formulas contain flouride, which is poisonous. That's OK in human toothpaste, because we spit it out. Cats, of course, will swallow their toothpaste. So the recommendation here is to not use human toothpaste on pets.

I use the C.E.T. cat toothbrushes, which come with a sample of their C.E.T. poultry-flavored toothpaste. The sample lasts as long as the toothbrush does, so I just buy new toothbrushes when the old wears out and I never have to buy toothpaste.

Sorry, but it's white and no dinos.

I think maybe she means St. Jon's Petrodex, which is the brand sold at Petsmart.

Don't buy the Four Paws brand -- that's got flouride in it.
