I originally had 4 cats (Midnight, Jewelz, Nore, and Baby Vicious). On August 18th, 2004, Baby Vicious

"escaped" through a small hole in a window screen when I was sleeping one morning. I tried everything possible to find her (went door-to-door, posted flyers, offered $500 reward, searched wooded areas, checked every shelter, etc etc), but we never found her. I still check the area she was last seen to see if she happens to show up. It just seems like she vanished off the face of the earth.

While we were looking in the woods for her, we found about 3 litters of abandoned kittens (within 4 months!!!) There were in total 26 kittens! One of the litters of kittens, were only 2 weeks old. They were left for dead in the woods in a cardboard box! We had to bottle feed them. They were infested with fleas and had bad upper respiratory infections. Once they were all healthy and weaned, we adopted them to loving families. We found homes for all but 7, which we ended up keeping. The first kitten we found looked similiar to Baby Vicious; my husband named her Syms. It was love at first site.

I know 10 cats seems like a lot to handle, but we love every minute of it (and they do to - they are so spoiled). They are all so unique in every way. We still miss Baby Vicious so much and we will always continue to search for her, but maybe this was God's way of helping the abandoned kittens and also to help us cope with the loss of our special Baby.

Again, I just want to thank Catsknowme for telling me about this site!!

I just had to say welcome and I am glad you adopted these cats. How does the dog get along with all the cats? My dog used to be attacked by my 2 cats. I only have 2 cats now and 2 human kids. I would have more, but live in an apt. and 2 is all I can fit in. Wow I can imagine when you brought them all in to get fixed , you must of had your hands full!!! cat....

We just adopted the dog about two months ago, and he is absolutely wonderful with the cats. We were kind of nervous to adopt him, because we were told that he did not like cats. I adopted him from a breeder, who had sold the dog to someone when he was a puppy. This person had kept him locked in a cage for close to a year, and abused him.
When the breeder found out about what had happened, he bought the dog back and got him healthy again. Then he adopted him to us. Suppossedly the person who kept him locked up, did so because he was chasing the cats and another dog. I cannot believe he did this, because he is so wonderful with my two children (boy age 5 and daughter 6 months) and the cats. He just wants to play with the cats. A couple of them are a little nervous, maybe due to his size, but they are slowing coming around. Two of the kittens actually lay with him, and he licks them.

When I got the cats fixed, I took two at a time. One was already fixed when I had adoped him, so I had to do 9. Broke the wallet for a little bit ($450), but it is well worth it.

Then, we just found a pregnant female, who is about 6 weeks pregnant. We are waiting for her to have her kittens so we can have her fixed, and then adopt her and her kittens. I cannot keep her or her kittens, as I kinda have my hands full right now.
If I could, I probably would.
