My neighbour, Lyn is moving to Wales in January for 1 year (for family reasons)
She is going to rent out the flat below me, which means I will have a new neighbour and also someone to share the garden with. I will really miss Lyn and also, she is taking BamBam, Pebbles & Tibby with her.

Guinness is really going to miss BamBam. How will he understand that his friend has just "gone"
The only other cats left in the area will be Chloe (who he likes to chase!) and Mac (who is a big fat bully cat!
)

I talked to Lyn and she said that she will ask for a couple or single professionals, who must like cats! I also hope they like the garden and won't wreck it or something! lol
I guess this is the problem that I have to face when I share a garden.

Oh well... January is a long way away.

Awwww thats sad Gilly
Well if she's just renting the flat out, she can put a clause in saying that they have to keep the garden neat and tidy at all times, just like they would have to with the flat?!.

Gilly, it's shame your neighbour is moving and Guinness' friends are going too

I am sure you'll get a nice new neighbour!
Susan is right though, there will be a clause in the agreement usually stating that they cannot alter the character of the garden, but must keep it filled with seasonal flowers, borders free from weeds etc!

I have only every rented once so don't really know the in's and out's of it all etc but hopefully, if everything is done by the book then the above will be done.

I put most of the shrubs in Lyns side of the garden anyway because I was fed up with it being a mud patch (cat "toilet" heaven). I think nearer to the time I will discuss my concerns about the garden with Lyn

You know what? I was thinking the exact same thing last night!
It has taken all this time (nearly 1 and a half years) for Guin to learn and trust Lyn. She is the only other person who he will let stroke him - anyone else and he runs a mile! He even has the balls (well he has none really, but I am just using that expression!) to go into her kitchen sometimes when she has the door open!

... errr so back to what I was thinking, about getting a friend for him!
Maybe next year some time, I will see how he gets along without BamBam and the other two boys... I will play with him more than I do now but if he does get lonely and is scared of the new neighbours this might be an option!

I would Gilly, then that way it would give you peace of mind, and i'm sure Lyn would understand because your not asking a lot, plus it would be in her best interest for the new tenants to keep it tidy should she ever come back?!.
