I was reading this article on kitten care where it said restlessness of the mothercat was a sign of trouble and thats how ms.peel is acting she wont really stay still and is up and meowing all over and roaming around the house i weighed the kits today and they are fine but she is breathing hard to so i think she might still be pregnant.Whats going on should i be worried?
Thanks
Logan

I don't think you are a worry wart. She really shouldn't be running around like that after birth. My cat never did. So, if this continues, could you contact a vet? I think that would be the best way to go in case there is something wrong.

Logan, if this was not a planned and watched breeding (and I assume it wasn't) and she was mated with outside, she could have been mated by other males at different times that could produce litters at different times. It is higly plausable that she has another kitten inside of her- if she is breathing heavy, straining at the litter pan, or is restless and pacing - it has been known ot happen. I would keep my eye on her and if she doesn't improve call a local vet in your area

Cats? Have you seen his dog? I think he is the culprit.

Just cause they are nursing doesn't mean that something isn't wrong with her.

Just a thought: does she relax when someone is in the room with her? Our cat Pepsi was very insistent when she had her kittens and afterward that we be available to her at all times, even though she did a perfectly fine job of taking care of them and never needed our help at all. (Except when they started escaping their box.
