Harry Potter!! Book 6!! EEEEE!!!!!

I can't wait, either. I am rereading all the books, and am in my favorite, Goblet of Fire. I still haven't preordered, I am trying to decide if I should have it delivered, or order from the store. I'm afraid if I have it delivered, it won't come till late in the day like the mail sometimes does. Decisions, decisions.

here is some info my assistant principal passed on to the Potter fans among the staff, maybe you already know about it:

The HBP (Half-BLood Prince) is not Harry or Voldemort.
Neville and Luna will not form a relationship with each other.
Harry's shortened stay at the Dursleys will not result from another court case, but for a "much pleasanter reason. This will be his shortest stay yet
Grawp will be more controllable, and we'll learn more about him.
Rita Skeeter will appear more.

Aunt Petunia is a muggle, not a Squib, but there is more to her than we know now. We will find out what.
What happened to Peter Pettigrew will be explained, along with more about him.
Harry will tell his closest friends about the prophecy.

Narcissa Malfoy will appear more.
We'll learn more about Voldemort's birth.
The wizarding world is at war again, Harry has to get control of his feelings to be useful.
There will be more information about Snape and Sirius when they were together at Hogwarts.
There will be a new Minister of Magic, not Arthur Weasley.

We'll see how much is accurate. Can't wait!!

And here I thought I was the only big HP fan on TCS In fact, my avatar is Crookshanks as done by a very talented HP fanartist. I've reserved my copy and told everyone that they won't hear from me that weekend because I'll be too busy reading!

Prisoner of Azkaban has been my favorite book by far, followed by Goblet of Fire. I am also so psyched about the Goblet movie. For those interested in keeping up with HP movie and book news I recommend The Leaky Cauldron:

Lol I am afraid that I might just have some of you beat, I have all 5 books in a box set, all 3 movies in a box set and all three soundtracks! I cant help it, I love Harry Potter! My favorite character is Snape!

We will learn a lot more about Voldemort in this book.

HBP will be an intense book, but with light-hearted moments.

Harry will leave Privet Drive early again, for a "much pleasanter" reason than in book 5.

The opening chapter of book 6 was originally planned for the early parts of book 1, perhaps we get a more in-depth story of what happened the night Harry's parents died.

Neither Harry or Voldemort (including Tom Riddle) are the Half-Blood Prince

Arthur Weasley will not be the new Minister of Magic

By the ends of books 6 and 7 "you'll have all the back story you'll need", says JK Rowling, and a prequel will not be necessary

There will be a new Minister of Magic, no more Mr. Fudge.

We will find out what happened to Hagrid's half brother Grawp. He will be a bit more controllable in book 6.

The Dursleys are in the next book, but Harry's stay with them will be the shortest yet. In book 5 he stayed for 4 weeks, so we know his stay will be less than 4 weeks.

Cho Chang will not be a romantic interest of Harry in Book 6, however there will be a "little romance" for Harry says JK.

In books 6 and 7 we will find out exactly why JK killed off Sirius.

Harry becomes even more powerful in book 6.

In books 6 and 7 we will find out why Dumbledore trusts Snape.

We will find out what happened to Wormtail AKA Peter Pettigrew

More about the animosity between Snape and Sirius will be revealed in the last 2 books.

JK has said that giving away the form of Snape's boggart and patronus says too much. We'll definitely find out what Snape's worst fear is, and it'll be important.

Hermione and Draco will NOT end up together in book 6 or 7.

We will find out what exactly Dudley saw when he looked at the dementors.

The reason Voldemort and Harry both didn't die when Voldemort tried to kill Harry, will be revealed.

We will see more of Draco's mother, Narcissa Malfoy, now that Lucius is busy.

We'll learn more about Harry's scar in the last 2 books.

Moaning Myrtle will make an appearance again, as will Tonks.

More about Voldemort's birth will be revealed, thus helping us understand why he is so evil.

Muggles begin to notice "more and more odd" occurrences in book 6, says JK.

The wizarding world is really at war in the sixth book.

Harry will tell his dearest friends about the prophesy after it sinks in to him.

We will learn more about Harry's relatives, including his grandparents (though JK says they aren't really important to the story)

We will find out what happened to Sirius's motorbike.

Book 6 will be shorter than the 5th book (or at least JK's 99% sure, but will not swear on her children's lives)

There will be no "new" nationalities of children at Hogwarts. Hogwarts is a British school, and JK says that adding foreigners for the sake of it is not in her plans.

During an interview, when JKR was asked in which Hogwarts room she'd like to be for 1 hour, she said it would be a room in which Harry has been before, but doesn't know its importance. Yet. (this could have happened in book 5, but we're unsure)

It's very important in the plot that Harry has his mother's eyes, and that her wand was very good for charms.

During an interview for Kids BBC, Victor Greensteet (reporter) asked Rowling if Harry would have a dragon for a pet. This is what she replied: "You can't tame a dragon, no matter what Hagrid thinks. It's simply impossible. So no. He has more common sense. He MAY have a different pet in the future, but for now, I won't say anything else". (This could have been buckbeak, but I'm sure we can expect more pets)

In the same interview for Kids BBC, the reporter asked J. K. if Harry had ever used the internet, and this is what she had to say: "No. They (the Dursleys) won't let him go near Dudley's computer, and Dudley is the only one who has a computer. They hit him if he gets too near to the keyboard. So the answer would be No. I use it a lot, but Harry doesn't. Wizards don't really need to go on the web. They have an even better way to find out what's happening in the outside world, which I think is a lot more fun than the Internet, but I'm going to keep quiet on this one."

The choice between what's right and what's easy will be a pillar of the plot in Harry's last 2 years at Hogwarts

Harry's parents' profession will be a big part of the plot.

Something HUGE will be revealed about Lily Potter.


I am sooo pumped. I have had my book reserved since feb.

I'm going to reserve mine ASAP! I can't wait!

DH says I need to get my copy at Sam's Club so I can get it at like 30% off. If they don't have it when it comes out I am going to be so ill !

I can't wait for the book either, but I'm more excitied about the new film.

I'm afraid it might be Dumbledore. Just a feeling, my coworker thinks so too, and that at some point he (Dumbledore) will lead an army back through the veil to battle Voldemort. It would be kind of like Obi-Wan dying, and becoming more powerful, I imagine.

Oh! I am excited too... but I havent reserved one.. I am going to save up my money and buy one no matter how much it costs...

one thing I didnt liek about the third movie though was the new guy who plays dumbledore... they gave him a flat hat... he is much shorter, and his beard is yellow.. if they had given him his old hat, dyed the beard and hair white, and given him soemthing to stand on so he doesnt look so small it would be cooler...

(for example in the beginning durin gthe first feast he is talking in front of the pedastle and it looks like it is dwarfing him..

he looks like a old crazy coot instead of a tall, powerful man who should be respected and revered.

Bleh.. the director for the last one was crap anyways they only have that guy because the good guy who directed it before was fired/quit or someting.. I hope they get a good guy for the next one.... I hated how they changed draco's hair too..

and dudley should have blonde hair and he hasnt gotten any fatter either...

oh.. and if you notice during on eof the feasts.. we finally get a look at professer flitwick...

but for some reason he is a young, dark haired ,hitler looking midget guy!!!

what happened to him being an old wizard with white hair and stuff???

I really hope they fired that last director..

I personally enjoyed the last movie. I agree with you on dumbledore, but the actor they had playing him first was perfect, but unfortunatly he died. So they had no choice to find another.

The new movie does have a new director (as each of the movies so far has had a different director, but chis columbus has been producer of all of them.) the next 3 movies are also supposed to be scored by someone different, whose name excapes me right now, but is nowhere near the same caliber of John williams.

I cant wait for this to come out! and ill have a job so ill have lots of money to buy it with!! lol i think im missing one book but i've read it and we have all of the movies.. johns as obsessed as I am so it works out!

well three copies of the book were stolen and in the town which they were being printed in and from where they were stolen all the bookmakers had bets being placed on Dumbledore dying.

Most places wont take bets on Dumbledore being killed of now.

so thats what my money would be on.

awwww...well now that Ive read you guys saying its dumbledore being killed, i really hope its not. That way it still a surprise! Ill just have to block that info out of my mind!

anywho.. I just preordered my copy and im going to the midnight release of it at chapters. I just have to ask for the next day off now. Tee hehehe

While I love all three movies, I did NOT like the dark, Gothic tone of the last one which Cuaron directed. However it sounds like whoever directed the movie it would have been along those lines as I recall reading somewhere the present director (Mike Newell) saying that he wanted to do it dark and then discovered that Cuaron had already done it. Which sounds like he hadn't seen the movies 'til asked to step on board.

It was always somewhat bizarre to me that Richard Harris played Dumbledore in the first two movies, although if you paid attention you could tell he was not well in Chamber of Secrets but did a fine job like the actor he was despite his illness. Michael Gambon does a good job with what is ultimately a bad situation, trying to fill a role in a huge movie that has already been shaped and molded by a predecessor. I wouldn't want an actor to try to be a carbon copy of Mr. Harris. It couldn't be done. I'm sure that if Gambon had played Dumbledore from the get-go there would have been little complaint. As it is I doubt anyone, even Peter O'Toole who I understand as a friend of Richard Harris' the family wanted to take on the role, could have really fit into Dumbledore's shoes.

I wouldn't be surprised if Snape died in the next book.

we will definitly hear more about snape. how can he be so seemingly bad and still be so trusted by Dumbledore?
