John is Irish and so tonight we went out and he bought an Irish Tin Whistle (and drum sticks for me
) I play recorder, sax, clarient, flute and piano/keyboard so its not too hard for me to play but I've been trying to teach him to read music all night. He plays guitar and drums but it's all by ear (stupid boy I'm so jealous lol) Sooo I was wondering if anyone around here plays???

I could probably play, it was just sound like crap. haha!!!

Maybe all the people who play the tin whistle are at work still or out mowing their lawns!!!

lol i know!!! He's slowly learning but he has a weird way of doing it...
the tin whistle only has 6 holes for notes so he's learning the fingering and associating the note with the fingering.. if that makes sense? haha

Yay!
I can play the tin/penny whistle!! But, I too, do it by ear! I can also play the trebble tin whistle!

I really think it is very difficult to teach someone - who plays by ear - to read music! Ask my piano and guitar teachers!
As I am one of those annoying people!

I use my sisters tin and penny whistles, but if she lets me borrow them, I can note down the ways that I know how to play it - if you'd like!

I'm probably just as strange at learning as John!

YAY! someone that plays! lol Its all Ive been listening to all day.. I like it but it gets annoying after awhile haha do you have any music for it (even though you dont read it?) Weve been trying to figure out the beginning to my heart will go on. I found sheet music for it online but it sounds nothing like what its supposed to be! I found a couple good sites to teach you to play and i can play foggy dew pretty well but we're having trouble with getting low to high notes sounding good... Im not used to having to cover holes myself with my fingers!
