Hi guys! Where's all of our creative people?!

I'm a graphic designer in the midst of designing a logo for a Family Meals Project and I'm kinda stumped as where to begin. Little background, I work for the Dairy Association and one of our projects this year is to promote the healthy benefits of families eating together for lunch, dinner, etc. Studies have shown that children are more likely to eat better when their families eat together. Of course, the logo needs to include dairy (such as a galss of milk or piece of cheese). Any ideas you have, such as a family eating around a circle table, would be much appreciated!
THANKS!

P.S. This one's a toughie!!!

Hrmn - well if you need to advertise dairy - don't use mice
How about a bunch of cows eating around a table. Does it need to be as simple as possible? Anything too complicated will overwhelm people... lemme ponder on it....

Thanks!!! Yes, the more simple and direct, the better! Trying to attract the attention of Moms, since they are the biggest influence on what, where and when their children ear. Remember...I have to draw this by hand on the computer...so be gentle!!!

Ok - so if ti's aimed at mums... How about - you know what the ladies' symbol looks like on bathroom doors? - well one of those in the middle, holding the hands of two small (one boy, one girl - one on either side) bathroom door symbols.... and the top half of the adult woman - from waist to neck, turn into a stylised glass of milk - because that part of the body is about that shape anyway.... I know what i'm trying to say, I wonder if you can picture it though.....

Yep, I think I know what you're saying...we have advertising out now that shows a curved milk glass kinda like an hour glass...but it uses the silouette of a woman's body. I like that...but I'm not sure I could use that for the kids also. BUT I like the holding hands...that would be cute. Keep going...you're creative juices are flowing!!!

THANKS GUYS!

Hey! I just saw that ad on TV this afternoon!
I thought it was a very clever way of marketing toward women.

OK, how about a table from an overhead view, with a family around the table, and with items on the table making a smilie face. For instance, plates for the eyes (other plates semi-obscured for the other family members), pitcher of milk or a big chunk of cheese for the nose, and have two family members at the lower half of the table holding hands to form the smile. I hope that makes sense. I can see it in my head....

How about a family on a picnic blanket in the backyard...one child could be holding a cheese sandwich in one hand and pointing up at the sky with the other, another could be drinking from a glass of milk and looking up, and the mom could be laughing and resting her hand on the shoulder of the child pointing up...all looking up the cloud in the sky shaped like an ice cream cone, that the child was pointing to? caption...mealtime together, you never know what will happen.

not sure this works, but maybe it will spark an idea

I'm often stumped by stuff like this, too, in web design.

I like stylized lines, simple logos with few colors. To me, they're clean and professional... and cheap to reproduce say if you want to plaster it on the side of a van.

Perhaps a table, at a slight perspective so that it appears you're standing over it just a bit, with a family of stylized "stick figures" seated around behind it, each with a glass of milk and a plate of cheese, bread, fruit, and veggies in the center?

Sort of a more stylized version of this, modified to suit your needs:

Thank you all for your wonderful and CREATIVE ideas, guys!!

I'm definitely thinking a family around a table would work best. Now I just need to draw it! Since it will be used for the entire promotion, it has to be very simple and easy to read. I'll definitely post what I come up with...maybe even a couple versions to let everyone vote.

Thanks again!!!

Susan
