We just had a fire scare in my apartment building
!!.... I was online and I smelled smoke coming from the hallway of my apartment. So, I opened up my apartment door to see what it was and the neighbor that lives in the apartment across from me had his door open too. And it looked like it was coming from the dryer (actually firemen said burnt food) So I called 911 and said that there was a lot of smoke in the hallway of our building... And the operator said that she would send some firetrucks with firemen right away... So I informed my roomate that we needed to get out of there NOW. So we are running around trying to catch the kid and the half -kid and they didnt wanna be caught
. So we had to leave them in the apartment
... They were hiding though. So we waited outside til the firetrucks came and the police came along too
and thats where we were up until a 2-3 minutes ago until the firemen said it was all clear to go back in the building. While we were outside waiting... I asked the firemen if the kids would be okay. And he said as long as our apartment door was closed and not open.. They would be okay.

Yeppers... I knew that when they heard the smoke alarm. It hurt their ears and they were hiding anywhere to get away from the sound.... Also, they DID NOT want to be caught and put in the carrier my housemate had for them. So we had to leave them where they were hiding and vacate the building. But, we told a fireman that we had cats and they were in the apartment.. In case they needed to rescue them.

Good thinking.

How are they now at this hour? Are they calm and resting?
