I thought as the foster kittens passed the six week mark that they would be out of the woods. Yoda the littlest of Isabell's four was fine until this morning. He has the runs and seems a little not like himself. He spit up a little bit like a baby who burped up a little milk. Any ideas what might help him out here? When I left for work this morning momma was feeding them and he was eating. Yes they are eating canned cat food and I was thinking that perhaps something didn't agree with him. I won't know until I get home if he has improved or gotten worse. Just thought I would ask you guys for a few ideas, if he is not feeling better we well be off to the vet. Of the four he has my heart the most because he is the smallest and has come so far in the last four weeks.

I'm not sure what to say, except that if you feel something is still not right, please do not hesitate to take him to the vet!

Please keep us updated! Hopefully someone with more knowledge will be along shortly to give you better advice.

I have decided that I probably need to monitor the little guy when he eats. I spent the evening cuddling him and fed him a little wet cat food and water. No problems. At about 930 he was running and playing with his brothers and sisters. At 1230 last night four kittens decided that my feet were fair game to play with. Yoda was helping too. It is hard to explain Yoda. He is the size his littermates were at 3 weeks, and his body is still that of a tiny kitten. Tiny thin legs a little of a round belly appearance. His fur is thinner than his littermates. But despite all of this he was the first to eat, first to use the litterbox and the first to come running when I came in the room. He will be staying with me as I think he will be a hard kitten to find a home for. I will have him checked by the vet to see if we have any major health issues and deworming and shots. I am getting his littermates and mom ready to become part of the local rescue (with me fostering) so that they can find homes.

Sounds like you are doing a good job with nuturing this litter outside of mom's assistance. With runts they sometimes take awhile for all their organs to catch up with the rest of their body. I wouldn't be feeding him a lot, people tend to like to overfeed kittens. I feed very small amounts in jar lids several times a day, because I find that feeding in a human size plate, bowl or even store bought "cat dish" can mean the kitten gets to much food and they will eat it anyway-

Good luck with this litter!

Thank you Hissy since it has been years since I have had a cat with kittens I am not always sure that I am doing the right thing. I watched him eat with the others and he is the first one at the plate and the last to leave, so I thought maybe he is just overeating. The others seems to know their limits, I guess he doesn't. Isabell has been a very patient and loving mom. She is even putting up with me! So I can assume it is okay if Yoda is all ears and eyes at the moment! Fur that goes every which way! And I forgot overnight he has developed feet that just doesn't go with the rest of him. He is the funniest looking kitten I have ever seen, but that is part of his charm.
