I've posted several threads on this forum about Baby Boy being completely scared of anything. He hisses at me. The vacuum cleaner drives him nutz. The sound of a door closing sends him flying. Even the sound of water running makes him shaking and terrified beyond belief. This went on for 5 months and i thought he would never change. I thought that he must have been so abused by his previous owner that i'll never develope a good relationship with him. He always hid under the bed or anywhere else he can burrow into.
Here we are at 6 months and he completely relaxed lying in my lap as i'm typing this. It started 5 days ago when he approached me slowly as i was working on homework. I offered him a treat as soon as he did this. The next day, he approached me again but he got even closer. Again, i repeated with the treat and he did it again the next day. Eventually i felt confident enough to pet him, which he did not like at first but then it slowly grew him. Now he won't leave me alone. He is purring like a motorcycle and so affectionate. I'm so glad he finally came around. Now if only he would let me sleep...
