IndyFeral Road Show
June 25, 2005
Indianapolis, IN

IndyFeral (IF) is conducting informative road shows in conjunction with Pets Supplies Plus. IndyFeral will be at the Pet Supplies Plus location at 8810 S. Emerson Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46237 on June 25th, 2005 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to meet the public and answer questions about feral cats.

If you have stray or feral cats in your neighborhood, come to the road show to learn how to stop the cats from breeding using the non-lethal method of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR).

Throughout the year, Pet Supplies Plus is also providing convenient food donation drop off locations for the feral cat colonies that IndyFeral maintains. Shoppers can purchase an extra bag on their next trip to any Pet Supplies Plus pet store. IndyFeralâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s Treasurer, Debbie Marlett, suggests “Financial donations can also be made earmarked for “food bank†and mailed to the group.â€

The food will be used exclusively for feral/free-roaming cats. These cats are generally not socialized and are unable to live in a typical home. Feral and abandoned cats are the result of irresponsible pet owners who fail to spay or neuter their cats and allow them to roam freely. Many colonies throughout Indianapolis depend on this food, along with the long-term care and shelters IndyFeral provides them.

If you would like to learn more about IndyFeralâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s efforts or how you can help, visit their Web site at www.indyferal.org or call the “feral line†at 317.596.2300.

IndyFeral Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to finding and providing resources in central Indiana to control the stray and feral cat problem through humane means.

I had no idea that there even was a TNR group in Indianapolis. I remember reading about the situation with the feral colony at a park in Richmond, IN (where I go to school). That was the first I had even heard of such a group. Do you happen to know if there is a group like this in Fort Wayne, IN? We are moving there in August and I'd love to volunteer for a group like this. I couldn't find any links to a group in Ft. Wayne on the IndyFeral website or the Alley Cat Allies website.
