Do you know why they have people voting if none of it counts? That's a little...shady.

The voting determines the 8 finalists, and then the winner is chosen from the finalists by Petendipity judges.

People were complaining about cheating in May, so they changed the rules so it isn't dependent solely on votes.

I read the terms of the contest on the site, just to clarify, that the votes do count to narrow it down. They take the top 8 contestants and then a group of judges decided from those. Actually, it makes sense that way since you can vote once a day per computer...so it's less of a "Who can get the most people to vote" (like we saw in May, was it? when it was Ashes vs. our Ebony in an almost neck in neck battle...to the exclusion of the other lovely kitties in the contest)
