Yes it is dangerous and you should look into keeping metal hangers away from your cat. Go to plastic ones if you have to. Also look into what you are feeding him and maybe change your program gradually.

I did get rid of them. They try chewing on my watch and zippers I wear and all kinds of things. Silly cats.
