Today I noticed one of mama kittys nipples was white at the tip... She doesnt seem to be feeding them quite as often... She also looked abit tired today...

The kitties are starting to eat a bit of solid food... I am just wondering how I will I know when she is no longer producing milk and has anyone ever seen this (white tip) on a queen's nipple..??

The kittens seem happy and content (craving our attention and wanting to play and be held alot heheh) They do not cry hardly at all.... I have not noticed any sort of 'potty' on the ground or litter box, so I assume mama kitty is still taking care of the potty waste....

any ideas?

Folks on this website are from all different time zones, so be patient and someone will probably be able to help you. Since this isn't a chat room, the answers don't always come as quickly as we would like.

Maybe if you are really worried, call your vet.

How old are the kittens? My kittens are 8 weeks old, and that's what my momma cat's nipples look like? Maybe dry skin type of thing? If I were worried about infection, I would look for redness, swelling, or pus. BUT I'll bet your vet gets calls like that all the time and would easily be able to answer. Let us know if you find out!

Yes, I actually called the vet after I posted the first time... If I am really concerned I ALWAYS call my vet...

she was not too concerned about infection(she said redness and hardness is what she would be most concerned about) but couldnt tell me what it was necessarily...
my posting here is because I can communicate with other cat owners who may be experiencing something similar... If I dont get a response in a day or 2, I figure its cause no one has experienced it, hence my inquiry...

but, THANK YOU, for responding and letting me know about your cat...

Our kitties will be 5 weeks old on Saturday and most are eating abit of hard food throughout the day, so perhaps her milk IS drying up...

As the weeks move on by (so QUICKLY) I get abit more sad thinking about adopting the kitties out... There are a few that I dont feel as connected to, but there are 2 kitties that just melt my heart...

Thanks again for posting Kluchetta...
