Sometimes i will touch either pandy, bonnie or anassa and get a small sharp zap like static electricity, they don't seem to notice and it doesn't bother me but i was curious if anyone has had this happen or know why it happens?

Happens here a lot.
Static builds up easily when the air is too dry.
I combat it by keeping an aquarium and a tabletop fountain on the main floor, and a cold air humidifier upstairs.

Our computer room is awful for zapping. Which isn't good around the computers as you can imagine
. I'll get zapped by my DH when he kisses me good-bye in the morning. Talk about an electric kiss
Most of it is due, I think, to the fact that this is the only room in the house that has wall-to-wall carpeting as the hardwood was just in too bad a shape to even think about re-finishing. Kellie da Peke gets zapped too in winter, and I'm sure that once the kittens graduate to this area of the house, they'll probably get zapped.

keep hand lotion nearby or dampen your hands before you pet your cat.

Thankyou so much, i never even thought of that, like i said, it doesn't really bother me but i'd prefer it didn't happen, it gives me a fright every time
