Those ARE creepy - even Stephen King wrote a short story about one. Must have given him nightmares!

I hate clowns too - I think they have split/multiple personalities, this cheery happy face (creepy too) on the outside and then all different on the inside. John Wayne Gacy - need I say more?

I used to be afraid to get out of bed at night. I thought as soon as my feet hit the floor, something from under the bed would grab my ankles. I was also afraid of a Cabbage Patch doll that my aunt got me for Christmas. I was even too afraid to throw it away, I thought it would come back and seek revenge!!

Kelly, did you tell anyone that you were afraid of your cabbage patch doll at the time?

Oh my and i thought i was a strange child

when i was little i was terrified of puss in boots, don't know why and the giant in the beanstalk, i had a fisher price record player and would cover my ears whenever he said 'fi fy fo fum'

i also had a great fear of santa and remember one time when my mum wanted me to sit on his knee for a photo, i ran to a nearby butchers and hid behind the counter
mum did eventually get me on his knee but it took a lot of bribing, i was also afraid of clowns, it started one day when mum took me to the circus and the clowns wanted kids to come into the ring with them, they singled me out and kept pointing and saying 'come on little girl' followed by a super creepy laugh, no way was i going down there with them, they still scare me now
.

when i was really young we lived in a house that everybody said was haunted. i remember my brother telling me one night he saw a goblin sitting at the coffee table reading a newspaper, the next morning there was an empty cup and paper on the table, he also used to see a ghost of a woman in a blue nightgown, she had a large smile of full white teeth and yellow hair, one night i thought i saw her but i was probably dreaming, i used to get afraid she would grab me and tickle me.

i also used to have scary dreams about the count out of sesami street and dreamt i was walking into the lougeroom with my crayons when he grabbed me and took me back to his castle, mum and dad came to rescue me but they couldn't and i remember dad saying in the dream 'your mother is stronger than you, i am stronger than your mother and the cound is much stronger than me, so we can't help you'

i still don't like the count.

There was a tree (still is) outside of my bedroom window at my Mom's house that would cast shadows on the wall. I "knew" the shadows were evil and if I went to sleep they would suck me into Shadow Land. Not a very nice place to live.
I would hear them talking to me (which I since have figured out was the furnace) saying that no one would save me and if they tried the owl in the tree would eat them!

My Mom had to cover my window with tin foil and make sure no light came under my door so I could sleep.

It still has to be pitch dark for me to sleep (until daylight... the shadows aren't scary then) and if I do wake up and catch a shadow my heart leaps into my throat. If I sleep at my Mom's I have nightmares hearing that furnace

Hah! This thread is scaring the crap out of me! *huggles kitties* Ill tell you something that happened about a year or less ago, that has made me afriad of all things where you pull the strings and it says/does something! I had this little monster thing, it was purple, and when you pushed its chest it played the adam's family song. Well I loved that thing! I would push it constantly! But one night (and Im not sure If I was asleep or half asleep or awake) Instead of going "dun da da dun, DOOT DOOT" it went " Hehehehe, that tickles!" O_O yeah. I freaked out, came in the living room, my mom was still awake, told her to please burn it before I started screaming, and sat shaking on the chair for an hour before I could go back to bed. It still freaks me out to this day. See the thing is I had pressed that like A HUNDRED TIMEs!!! But then that ONE TIME it did that! Oooh'! I never touched it again, and I dont like those things where you push the buttons/pull strings to make them talk

When I had my bedroom downstairs (no closet), I was sure there were snarling, drooling wolves under my bed. When I turned off the light (on the far side of the room of course!) I could make the bed in three leaps.

Oh yeah, and I was quite sure that the mirror in the bathroom was a 2-way mirror. I don't know how the people watching got into the MIDDLE of the house, but they were there.
Had you watched Donnie Darko when you shouldn't have? LOL

I've always been afraid of the dark, even to this day I have to turn on lights around the house as I go. I have a fear that a monster is under my bed and will grab my ankles when I dangle my feet over the edge of the bed!

I also have a fear of earwigs. No other insect or animal, but a tiny little earwig terrifies me! I got one stuck to my finger when I was a child, didn't hurt, but enough to instill a lifelong phobia!

I was terrified of the Wizard of Oz, the witch and monkeys in that movie creeped me out.

We used to have a storage room in the basement of the house I grew up in and I was always afraid to go into that room. I'm quite sure what I as afraid of but it just always scared me. We moved out of that house when I was eighteen and I was still afraid of that room.

This is an embarassing current fear. My closet has a light in it and something I forget to turn it off so when I go to bed at night the crack around the door glows. I think I've seen one too many Stephen King movies because I always jump and turn on the bedroom light before I open the closet and turn off the light. Otherwise I'd be too afraid to open the door, there might be something evil lurking in there.
