All three of my cats are angry with me. The reason is because my car has been in the garage for a week getting some major work done and I have not been able to go to the supermarket out of town to get their favourite catfood. Originally I thought I would get it back on Friday, but it will now be Thursday this week ( parts being ordered from Germany - this country!).

So the kits are making do with the brand from the local shop, and They DO NOT like it. I have tried adding chicken gravy and tuna juice, they rush up to it and lick it enthusiastically and then discover the trick. I am giving them chicken and lots of treats but they keep looking at me to say 'where's our real dinner?' They are not starving - they have their dry food, and they are eating a bit of the other stuff, but they are not happy. I wish I could explain that it's tough on me too not having the car, but we have to live through it!

i have been switching between the small silver tin to the slip cat food and teufel will only eat the slip cat food, he totally hates the canned or the small sheba tins, he too is angry at me
What i do though is add some fish food to his cat food then he will atleast eat half of it..

What car do you have that has to import parts?
Opel?

Don't worry 'bout it, they still love you! Like WellingtonCats said, they'll get over once they get their food back, lol.

Fwan - I run a 12 year old VW Passat, the most common car in Bosnia, but no garage, even main dealers, can afford to stockpile parts, so everything, for every job, has to be ordered. I heard this afternoon that although most of the parts arrived today, the brake linings did not and they will have to wait the next delivery on Friday! So I will get my car on my return from France (I am going for the FINAL signing on my new house) on Tuesday. So I am going to see if I can get a lift to the supermarket before I leave on Friday. I am not sure if the cats' tempers will last till Tuesday! Especially as someone else will be feeding them over the weekend.

Did you try mashed up cottage cheese??? I thought I would fool Ox with moistened dry food instead of real moist food. That didn't work!!! However they eat any kind of moist food since its a treat in the morning. I stockpile some dry food in case I run out and I think they don't really care what they eat as long as they eat!!
What a bummer about the car-I think its bad when they mechanics have it for a day!!
I guess we are spoiled. I can drop off my vehicle the dealership will drive you to work and also pick you up after work to get your vehicle back.

We can't get cottage cheese here - I do give them the local version of cream cheese as a treat but it is very rich. And no, we don't have anything like internet shopping or even home delivery. But as I said, they are not starving, and it will do them good (maybe) to learn to eat something else. I am looking forward to going to live in France, where all these things will become just a memory!

That's one of the reasons why I'm a cat food hoarder. Even in Germany, I sometimes have trouble getting certain brands, because Jamie and ZsaZsa prefer imported foods, and there are often problems with customs. I generally have a three-month supply of canned and dry food, and cat milk, on hand!

Well done! I will have to do that. Up to now I generally go to the supermarket every month, and I was running low but was assured I would have the car by now. I have now found a store in town near the bus stop where I can get Kit e KAt in pouches - not good quality, I know, but at least they like it! I don't think it will hurt them to eat it till Tuesday, and it is a relief not to have them meowing at their bowls and doing that awful tail-upright-step back-this is disgusting and below my dignity to eat it- stance.

They don't have any difficulty speaking their minds, do they?

Hey, kids! Give Mum a break, eh? She doesn't like this any better than you do!
