Looking for a cat barricade

My bedroom has two rooms - the main room which has the bed, and a room that branches off of it that I store paperwork in. These rooms are separated by a walkway that is about 58 inches wide and it has no door.

Now, I'd love for my cats to be able to come into my bedroom and to sleep on the bed at night, but I can't because they always go over to the other room and try to knock papers, folders, etc. off the desk among other things (One time they layed on a cable and unplugged my modem, it took me awhile to figure out why the internet didn't work ). Is there something I can buy that will block the walkway so the cats will not go over there. Thanks for any help

mmmmmmm try building up a barrier cats can't jump over, make sure they can't jump up then over, a single smooth barrier with no inbetweens that little kitties can jump on

I think it will probably take a door placed in the hall to keep them out.

Try a scatmat maybe?
