You are not going to believe this...

I didnt, i woke up this morning to sara chewing on my hair.... hair that was no longer attatched to my head, she actually chewed threw it and was now swallowing it. And i am not talking about a little bit, i am talking about a long lock of hair, and it was halfway down her throat...

I know, I know, i shouldnt have, but i pulled on it, (it was a lot, i think it would have affected her breathing), it all came out, but i dont know if there was anymore....

How long before i know if there is more and it makes her sick... i have read stuff on here about it wrapping around organs and stuff and i must say i am scared now.

I gave her hairball meds and now she is sleeping on top of the computer monitor.

We are supposed to be leaving here in a minute, but i am now afraid to leave her....

It is possible that it could obstruct her bowels. Oliver has never eaten hair but he has eaten some other things like ribbon and part of a shirt, believe it or not. The shirt material he passed on his own but the ribbon had to be removed surgically.

call a 24 hour vet place, tell them what has happened and ask what their opinion is. If she starts to vomit, that's a sign the hair is not passing and she'll need immediate attention.

I would get her to a vet and not leave her, but that is just my opinion.

You did the right thing giving hairball goop. (Sorry, that's what I call it...."goop"). As the previous poster suggested, monitor for signs of obstruction. Vomitting would be one. No poopies would be another, although it's going to take a while for that to manifest. I don't see any point in rushing to a vet right now, because unless they see the cat soon enough to induce vomitting, the only thing they can do is wait and see whether it comes out the back end or not. I certainly hope your kitty will be OK!!
