I, Crapdiva (as Ryan so lovingly puts it), need to find an anniversary gift and quick. I have asked DH what he wants but we've "kept house" for so long, there really isn't anything special either of us can think of. Any ideas??????

A date is always good for an anniversary. What kind of things did you do for fun in the early days? We have taken the day off work to go bowling in the middle of the day. Or we went to a country/western bar one year.

Of course, we don't always get out like we should, so the planning for a big date is very fun. We will have been married for 13 years this September. How long have you been together?

n Great ideas, though. I can't get off work this year so it's going to be kind of a bummer since it's in the middle of the week

Oh, thanks! That's the nicest thing I have heard all day!
At my age, being disqualified from anything "old" is a special treat.

Well... I could have given you some ideas but I don't fit "old" or "married" so
to you!

Just kidding Chris, my mind is totally blank today!
Congratulations and good luck!!

We have been happily unmarried for 20 years, and we had the same problem, we just really did not need much. We decided not to stress over it, and we bought a new bed. We decided a good night's sleep for another 20 years was just what we needed. You should have seen the look of relief on my sweetie's face when I suggested that.

Okay, so I've only been married for a year and a half BUT...

I've always found that an experience is the best gift. For Christmas this past year, I told two Aunts of mine to go view the schedule for their local Civic Center for the next couple months and pick whatever show they'd like to see. It happened that the traveling Broadway show "Fiddler on the Roof" was playing that December so they picked that... and LOVED it! No doubt it'll be something they'll remember for the rest of their lives.

My best friend's husband loves to do surprise theme nights. He would do goofy things, but my friend always LOVED it. For instance, one time he did a "French" theme night and they went to a French restaurant, then went to some event in a town called "La Follette", and some other things. Of course, she knew nothing of what was next until they got there... (just an idea!)

No No No No No NO!

A new bed for your anniversary is VERY different than new carpet! LOL!

What does Mr. Captiva do for fun during his free time? Maybe that will help with more ideas!

Ok I havn't read all the other posts but I'll give you my ideas (inspite of the fact that in 10 days I'll only have 2 years of marraige under my belt too!). How about something like a massage or tickets to a game or something. Or maybe take the money you were planning to spend on eachother and donate it to a good cause.

well heck, I'm older, even if only coming up on 10 years married...how about something to satisfy a hobby or interest? I.e. my dh is a computer geek..there is *always* something new he'd love, also he's a gamer, and into learning how to do woodworking - so tools, books, games...into photgraphy so scheduled special trips that would be good photos ops..these all work.

What are Ryan's passions?

My present of choice: generator.
We got ours and it is the best present we could have ever thought of.

No - I was referring the the resident pest Ryan, because he calls me Crapdiva.

Right now my dh is into radios. The last one he showed me was a $200 retro radio from England.
That's what he really wants but I was thinking along the lines of a new wedding band. He said he doesn't need a new one.
