Hi All,
Im heading out to a family reunion tomorrow. About a week ago one of my aunts started in with "it's so and so's birthday," then another aunt said,"well so and so's birthday the week after," etc etc. So now I need to buy gifts for

1. Nine-month old girl twins (not their birthday, but my sister and I are their namesakes, definitely need good ideas here!)
2. 13 year old girl who likes arts stuff
3. 10 year old boy who likes animals and legos
4. 7 year old boy who likes books and puzzles
5. 35 year old woman (NO IDEA what she likes!)

As I dont have any human kids yet, I have no idea what is good to buy for them. For the woman, I may just get her a gift card, but I know that you cannot get away with that with little kids.

The namesake one especially is befuddling to me. We dont see this branch of the family very much, and I want to give them something that is appropriate.

Any ideas? Thanks all!

1. How about cute springy/summertime dresses? Target has very cute kids clothes.
2. Gift Certificate to Hobby Lobby or Michaels?
3. Gift Certificate to ToysRUs? Or I got my son a Lizard habitat form Amazon for about 15 bucks.
4. Gift Certificate to Books A Million?
5. Make a bath bucket.....get a small bucket or basket and fill it with bath items, maybe from Bath & Body Works.

thanks for the help! Im not quite sure what I will do . . . there is a real feeling in this branch of the family that gift certificates mean that you don't care enough to select a gift, wrap it, etc. (for the kids anyway, they are kind of old-fashioned that way. the adults seem to be ok with them, but I guess they dont think gift certificates are good for kids) Since I rarely see them, I dont want to ruffle feathers.

I think I will go by Target and just stock up on gifts! I have to take them by plane from NC to Kansas City, so they gotta be small.

Thanks though, as soon as I read "Target" my mind went "bah-bing!"

My mom is the same way but my sisters and I look at it this way: we'd rather have an "impersonal" gift than something we don't want and have to stand in line to return it!

I think we're starting to finally convince her it's a good idea!

Good luck and have fun!

How about for #2 one of those kits where you can design and make your own photo frame or something? I'm no good with gifts! Truly! Good luck.
