Oh I am Soooo MAD right now...I just looked over Dutchy as she just got home from a spay. And they were told to use disolveing stiches. we had the spay done low cost through a group called Feline Rescue..and they require disovable stiches...we reminded them of that when we dropped her off..

Looking her over, they put STAPLES in her...which means in 10-14days I have to go back to have them removed
first of all. I dont like the idea of staples, I dont know much about them...are they going to be bad for her? When they remove them how do they do it? Will she have to be sedated again? Anyone help ont hat one?

Second of all this is not my usual vet..and I am PEEVED. i will pay for what I have too..but i dont think I should have to pay for the staples to be removed they screwed up :/

I will be calling tommrow..to complain and see what they expect me to do...GRR

Usually there is no charge for staple removal and it is quick and easy. Do you have a regular vet? He may do it for free or at a minimal charge.

Thanks that makes me feel better I have never had to deal with staples. Only stiches....only time I have ever even seen them on anyone person, or critter was a horse who tore half his chest open

Same here I had staples when I had my shoulder reconstructed. it was easy and painless to take them out. The instrument that they yous just fits over the top and is squeezed, which then bends the staple in the middle so that the ends pop out.

Wait until you have a word with them first because they were supposed to be putting internal sutures in when Sophie got spayed, but when i picked her up there was 4 stitches on the outside?.

When i asked why, they said they'd had a problem getting her uterus out so they had to snip her open a bit wider, so it was better in this case to have external stitches.

Sophie went back to have them out a couple of weeks later but it was already in with the price of her spay.

Don't worry she'll be just fine, the worst parts over

Just talked to them. apparently they gave her BOTH...which is dumb....they want me to drive her out there to look at them.....which I am kind of mad..cause iw ork today and had about 20 other things to get done. But its my baby so we go to take care of her.

ok so this didnt post....she is home..they took the staples out. she just has to be super quite....cause they layered the sutures...i said they could leave them in if they needed to. they said no she would be fine. so.
