Is my kitty saying she needs more attention?

My kitty Gabby Girl has been behaving a little different the last couple of weeks when I wake up in the morning and walk through the door from work. I started giving my two kitties wet food about three months ago and they LOVE it. I feed them twice a day -- in the morning when I wake up and when I come home from work. They run to their bowls when they know it's time to eat. Gabby Girl is the real vocal one when it comes time to get fed. She meows me up in the morning and meows me when I get home to feed her. But lately Gabby Girl has not been interested in eating right away. I will put the food down and Chloe will go to eat, but Gabby seems to just follow me around a bit until I pick her up or pet and talk to her. I give her tons of affection and talk all the time to her. Is she lonely?

It seems to me like your cat needs a bit of extra attention as she is happy to see you.
If you spend a few minutes wih her does she then want to jump down and go and eat??? Are they kittens going through a growth spurt???

Yes, actually when I do spend those few minutes with her she is ready to eat. Seems like she just needs me to touch base with her for some reason.

I'm sure Gabby just wants to be with you, which is never a bad thing. As for coming to see you before she eats, it may be her way of thanking you for the food, just seeing you after you having been gone all day, any number of things. Feel lucky she puts you in front of food *grin*
