...have you been married? Though conversations with other tcsers I've heard people talking about their ex's and I was just wondering how many times TCSers have been married. I'll keep the poll Annon. Go ahead and tell us your story if you want, there isn't any reason to be ashamed of multiple marraiges... my mothers second marraige was a million times better than her first... but I'm not going to complain about the first one cause I wouldn't be here otherwise.

I voted never but I'd like to one day although I flip flop between that and just never getting married. I'd have to trust someone an awful lot to marry them and I just haven't met anyone like that yet. But who knows what the future holds.

Dave was my first husband that i married when I was 19. He was serviing in Hawaii in the USMC and my girlfriends and I had gone over there on vacation and met him. We spent the whole time practically together and thought it was love. I flew back to Ohio and went back 4 months later and we were married at Pearl Harbor. Our marriage lasted 4, almost 5 years. Parted as friends. Just realized we were better friends than life long partners.

Had a couple of crappy relationships in the next decade or so and then at the end of 98, I met Jerry. The absolute love of my life!

I was engaged a couple times but always backed out before the altar. my parents have been together for like 28 yrs, and I never thought of divorce as an option, so I wanted to be extra careful by dragging out engagements and cancelling if any issue came up. I want to be 100% sure I can deal with the other person and that they can deal with me.

My bf right now, our relationship has been very telling from day one, and very open and honest, and I'm 99% sure if he asked me to run away and get married next week I probably would. It's scary being that vulnerable.

It will be 20 yrs for Neil & I in September.
A good marriage test-try a home improvement project with the other person-if you don't want to pull your hair out by time you are done you might have found a keeper!!

We put down carpet in the house together and we both survived... I think we can make life work.
Great advice!

I'd like to marry my boyfriend one day. His parents had a pretty ugly divorce and the subsequent re-marriages have been... well... So he's not really into the idea. The convo goes like this...

Me - "So you want to be with me forever."
BF - "Yes."
Me - "But you don't want to get married."
BF - "Not really, is that a problem?"
Me - "No, but I may bug you in a few years."

Honestly, I'm too young to get married and somewhat enjoy living in sin anyway. But when I get older I may try to convince him, really I'd rather be with him than married though.

I married my first husband when I was 23. We stayed married for 7 years but I was young and stupid. I thought I could change him but that never happened and back in 98 I decided that I had had enough. I met my second husband shortly after that. He was a single parent with custody of his two children. We were together for 5 years before we married, just to make sure.

We both have had practice marriages and I think this will last forever.

Married once, celebrated 15 years a couple of weeks ago. I love him dearly, but honestly, if something ever happens to him, I don't think I'll ever marry again!

Never been but want to.

Dennis and I have been together for almost two years and now we pretty much live together, which I whole-heartedly advise anyone to do. Living together really makes you learn how to communicate with each other and YES, the true test is a house project! I'm hoping we're engaged by the end of the year...and believe you me, I've waited 31 years...I think everyone and their mom will know when I get engaged!!!!

i first met my husband at highschool but we didn't date, we were both too shy, we met six years later in a chat room and fell in love, we got engaged after six months and married six months later.

we have been married for two years and are very much in love, we are best friends and very close

we are Christians so we didn't live together or anything before getting married, we saw each other every day though

Awwwwwwww.
You just haven't met the right guy. Don't settle. I tried that and it didn't work.
