Question about Cat Pages

I tried to create a Cat Page for each of my two kitties. In both cases, I'm being told that the photos I've uploaded are too large and the pages are pending approval.

Is there a chance that my pages will be approved with the photos as they are? Or am I going to have a find a way to compress these files and make them smaller? I'm not sure I know how to do that.

One of your pages had a photo; the other didn't. If the photo file was too large, you would have to resize the picture with a photo-editing program.

Does decreasing the size make the file smaller?
