Oh my gosh. I can't belive it . Why do such people take in animals if they are unexperienced and are just going to play/experiment with them. I hate that!! That's why i choose the people who my kittens go to well. I can't believe this woman. I would had.. UGH!! I hope that lady that you said takes her ASAP!

Good news, and good news

For one, luckily the cat did not develop mastitis.
For two, the other lady did take the cat and she will be taking her to the vet tomorrow!
I love happy endings!

What an unbelievable ending. You have done a wonderful thing here, to save this cat from a fate of strings of uncared for litters. Bless you!

I am so relieved to read this last reply. Thank our good Lord above that you were there to save this cat. There really are people out there with dung for brains. Bless you for taking the time and energy required to get this cat OUT OF THERE!

I hope you also "suggested" (nicely of course) that she not get any more animals!

Although I am certainly just as angry, and my bank account a hundred dollars emptier, I do believe that we can better teach these people to educate themselves and develop ethics regarding pet ownership by gently, but firmly, pointing out what happens when they are irresponsible.
If I were to yell at every person I see who is not a responsible pet owner, I would have been able to help far fewer pets because they simply would not allow me into their lives.
If we are immediately harsh with people, in person, or on the internet, we push them away, and then who knows what happens to the unfortunate animal in the hands of someone who simply does not know better or understand. We certainly won't find out, because we will have scared them off or offended them so badly that the pet in danger is no longer their focus. If they at least come to us for help, then we should do what we can, without hostility, in order to teach these people what they should be doing rather than what they are doing.
This girl made some grave mistakes.... and has learned through the heartache of losing a kitten, and having to give up her pet because she now realizes she is simply not prepared to care for it.
I think that next time she gets a pet, she will make sure she is ready, and hopefully, will help others who she may meet making the same mistake.

Good point. Letting people know they are blazing idiots is cathartic, to be sure, but most likely does not serve the greater good.
And really, if she truly didn't care, she wouldn't have mentioned it to you in the first place.
