Princess had a liter of 4 on May 13. The runt of the liter has not gained any weight. The rest have been gradually gaining. They all seem to be nursing well. I have even supplemented "spot" but she still is gaining.
Any suggestions?

Yes, I have been weighing them every day. They range from 8 ounces to 6 ounces. The wee one barely weighs 3 ounces

Individual kittens can weigh more or less than what I have printed below, so this is only a guide, not etched in any big rocks ...

At birth, kittens should weigh approximately 3 to 3 and a half ounces.

At 1 week weight should be approximately 4 ounces.

At 2 weeks, weight should be approximately 7 ounces - Your others sound in line with this however, at almost 3 weeks old now, they should weigh a little more.

At 3 weeks, weight should be approximately 10 ounces - this is where your kittens should be at this stage.

At 4 weeks weight should be approximately 13 ounces.

At 5 weeks, weight should be approximately 1 pound.

By the end of the 8th week, kittens should weigh approximately 2 pounds.

Kittens who do not gain consistantly should be seen and assessed by a vet immediately. This could indicate a serious health problem. Since you are already supplementing - keep doing that but do it more frequently throughout the day. What are you supplementing with?

Could it possibly be worms? They could be stealing her/his nutrition, and that could be why he/she isn't gaining. When my dog got hookworms, he lost weight before we realized he needed help. They did a fecal, and found hookworms. We thought it was just because of his condition (heartworm reverse), but it was actually worms. Maybe that could be it? Sound right? Anyone... correct me if I'm wrong.

Good luck with your new babies!

They are being supplemented with KMR. I was supplementing only in the morning and at night. I have increased it to every 4 to 6 hours when I can. Hopefully this will help. With it being a holiday weekend, if Spot doesnt gain weight a trip to the vet come Tuesday.
When they went to the vet the Monday after they were born, there was no signs of worms in Momma then. Is it possible even though she does not have worms that the babies have got them somehow?

Yes it is possible... fleas can spread worms.

My Spot is slowly gaining since I have increase the amount I am supplementing. She has gained a once and a half in the past few days. Hopefully, this patten will continue. She is the favorite of everyone who visits.

My littlest baby was born at 3 ounces, and only weighed 5 ounces at 3 weeks. At 7 weeks she was only 11 ounces. I worried about her a bit, but she acts just like all the others, and sometimes leads the rest in mischief-making! I just figured that if she wasn't weak, or lagging in development that we were ok. Good luck! - Kim.

Amy, Is the little baby gaining weight? I feel bad for not noticing your PM message to me about bottle feeding. Are you still looking for advice with bottle feeding?
