i love kids and i think they are sweet and funny but only when they belong to someone else. i love my kits and treat them like most mothers treat their children, the thing is, i really don't think i want kids, i'd prefer to just have my fur baby's.....is this a wrong way to feel?

sometimes i feel bad but i can't help it, i just don't really want a baby.

i can just imagine the look of shock on mums face when i bring pandy and bonnie over for a visit and say 'hey mum, meet your grandchildren'

love,

felicia

Nope I think that is PERFECT for some people!

Myself, I want children one day but who knows if that will change? My kids are the furry kind now and I like it that way!

IMO, Your children are who you would do anything for and love always, whether they have fur or not

I don't know...there's days I fell like trading my kids for the furry variety LOL Especially my 2 year old
Seriously, I love them to death but kids aren't for everyone
My 2 closest friends LOVE that I have kids. They'll "borrow" them for a day, satisfy that "maternal" urge and by the end of the day are back to the "I never want kids" opinion....hmmm...maybe I should be insulted by that

ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
I'm brilliant with other peoples kids, to the point that they can't understand why i havent had them?, but thats because i give them back to the parents at the end of the day!.

I have more patience with my two running around on the hardwood floor sounding like a herd of baby elephants, smashing vases, nearly tripping me up, Sophie meowing for me to open the door to my bedroom(which i always get up out of my seat for!
), Rosie meowing and jumping on me for treats.

Now if that were a two year old child of my own?!

That's how i am, wonderful with kids but i know i can give them back, if i couldn't it just wouldn't be the same because i need time to my self and time my husband and i and with children i just wouldn't have that...maybe i'm selfish

my sentiments exactly, i seem to have all the patience in the world for the furry kind but kids...

Felicia take it from me your far from selfish!, an old neighbour of mine said that i was for not having kids, but she was thinking about when she got old and that they would look after her, now thats selfish!.

At least we who don't want kids are being honest, or would people rather we had them and let them test our patience on them?!

Thankyou rosie,

i guess sometimes i feel pressured because my family wants me to have them but at the end of the day it's me who has to look after them and i know you should never have kids because someone else wants you to.

Exactly!. When i was still with my husband it was a joint decision that we didn't want them, my parents were fine with it, but all i got from my inlaws was "but he/she would want for nothing!".

I didn't doubt that for one minute, but we certainly weren't having them just to please them.

I think I've recently come to the final decision that children are not for me. I don't have the patience, and I think the only reason I'd be having them was because it's the 'expected' thing to do.

What's more selfish, me knowing that I wouldn't be a good mum and not having kids, or knowing and having them anyway?

I'm prefectly happy to have a couple of furbabies instead

I hear that a lot too. I'm pretty irritable when I'm tired, and I can't imagine anything worse than a screaming baby whether it's my own or anyone elses!

I never had kids (and won't be...) I don't think of my cats as "children", but I sure do love them, and they satisfy a nurturing instinct.

My mother just couldn't wait to be a grandmother, and had 5 grandchildren combined from my siblings. So, to tease her, I would give her framed photos of her "grandcats". She did a big project, knitting an afghan blanket for each of the grandchildren, and I actually got her to knit one for her grandcats too. She pretended to complain, but I know she loved it, because she complained to all her friends too. "Look, now I have to knit for the cats too!" She did refuse, though, to buy new yarn, she made it out of the leftovers from all of the other projects. And she thought that they didn't need a full size one. I think the cats use their blanket from grandma more than any of the human grandchildren.
