I am bushed
. I've been working on covering the shelves for this almost all day:

at least in between working on my deck garden bed I have! I have blisters on my right hand even though I was using an electric stapler.

The sticks between the shelves are going to be replaced with pecan limbs as I had DH cut down a small, straggly pecan back in the field I've been wanting down as it's a pain to mow around.

Sheesh, and I still have to clean up the enormous mess I've created before I can call it a day.

It probably won't be finished by Sunday, but it won't be for lack of trying!

Wow!!! That is amazing! That is way better than the ones you can buy in the stores or online. Are you taking orders?

That is the best cat tree I have ever seen! You are so talented!

Take care of those blisters
Don't pick at them! I can't stand when people do that

Thanks Ashley! Apparently it was just a sort of a "proto" blister, it didn't raise up, it's just a tender spot between my thumb and forefinger. It feels better now that I've had a shower though.

Ahahaha. Sunny (DH) asked something along those lines. The thing is, since it's as much an art/design project as anything, and also since the thing can not be broken down to be shipped and would have to crated and shipped by truck, I would NOT sell the thing for less than 8-1200 dollars, depending on the final product. I don't think I'd sell many for that amount
!

You know, I way overestimated on how much carpet I'd need, I may be making a couple of more (smaller) ones. After I recover from making this one

Whoa! That's quite a project you undertook! Looks great! I wish I had that kind of patience - and supplies. Damn apartment living!

That's awesome. Would you mind if I borrowed your design? My Dad has pretty much so told me that I can use the "big" workshop (My Dad and Uncle bought a "barn" and have it filled with tools and such) to make a cat tree for my boys and I really like that one. The ones in the store are so...boring everything looks the same.

I bet I could even convience him and my uncle to cut down one of the trees out behind the barn for the cat tree. We already have a bunch of spare lumber so all I'd need to get is the carpet.

Nah, go ahead, but more what you'll be borrowing will be the idea rather than the design per se. The trees and limbs pretty much dictate how the shelves go and what their shapes are.

I've got a step-by-step (pretty much) on my website. Clicking on my sig-pic will take you there.

Thanks. My dad will be thrilled that I've finally found a tree I like.
