So did she? I am on the west coast...
This is starting to remind me of the US election, ALL the polls and I mean ALL of them show one outcome, CNN, TV guide etc and then....

Oh well. power to the teenie boppers I suppose.

I've voted every night since the beginning for Bo. I know people say that about Carrie, but I honestly believe Bo should have been THE American Idol. I guess America wasn't ready for a man like Bo Bice
.

Yeah Idol one was like that, Clay has faired better than Ruben in sales and longevity.

Did Clive come out and give them both contracts? Or was it just Carrie wins?

Once again it proves my theory that the mainstream can't handle long hair rockers, male or female, in this day in age
And I can say that since I do work in the rock/metal scene professionally... He'll do great over in Europe, but not here stateside since its more of a hip-hop/R&B scene.

Wait a minute..he came in SECOND! He beat out a TON of hip hoppers. Coming in second is damn good. Clay came in second and sold MORE records than Ruben who won the first one! I don't mean this means anything than that more teenie boppers vote all night! They let the voting go until 1am this time!

Yes but it shows Rockers can't come out on top
Yeah he'll probably still sell more records then carrie, however she could breakout in teh country format and be a runaway success. Hell Clay is the next Barry Manilow, if he realizes it at all.

Btw, Its also a known fact, atleast in the radio industry that the rock/active rock format is being dropped for either hip-hop and R&B OR Top 40 in this day in age. I just hope the Jack and Bob formats go over well, which here in Denver (The first Jack FM station in the US), it has for the most part.

BUT back to the subject...

Oh he did great, he got sick, life is just like that. He will do great. Carrie will be doing the national anthem at the indie 500 while seated with her obnoxious husband and manager Bill something, in a couple of years, seriously...mark my words.

Actually when Carrie goes under contract, I highly doubt that will happen in the next couple of years, she'll be shown around like a prized farm animal of somesort. And yes, I have seen records contract, they OWN you. The manager is just for looks, especially first year contracts.

So she won prized 4-H project, and will be carted around to county fairs. Big deal. (I figure the manager husband will show up later...I was thinking Celine if you didn't catch on...) Bo will get a contract and do great. I can see his albums being really creative, he might be the first break through artist than non idol fans like.

That's the thing with this competition...it's the teeny-boppers who have nothing better to do than hit redial 900 times (no, really, I read someone who posted that on the Idol board last night!). Those of us with, oh I dunno...JOBS, and stuff like that aren't going to stay up all night just to vote for American Idol. Either that or it's rigged so Simon is never wrong.

But you know, this might be the best thing for Bo. Kelley has done well, but Ruben is flopping, and Fantasia who? Clay has longevity and has been able to do more because he isn't tied to that god-awful Idol contract. Hopefully there are still some stations that will play him!

Plus Heidi had a good point, hey all the Bo fans...buy his single in protest!
I am going to order it right away. And any others that come along!

Remember Rocky came in second in the first movie!

I like Bo but i think Carrie was right to win american idol. If Bo would have won that means he has to sing a bunch of pop songs that the writers wrote. He's greater than that. He's better off doing his own thing instead of what other people want him to do. I'm sure he will be more true to his fans this way.

Same thing happened for Canadian Idol last season. I Loved Jacob Hogard. He was a punk rock singer. I know I would have hated to hear him sing the finale song and all those fluffy pop songs.

I agree with you 100%. I've worked in the rock/metal scene since I was 15(now being 22) and you always had the people that supported the scene, but here, generally people are more into hip-hop and R&B. However, this still doesn't mean that I'm not bitter that he lost, and now wanting to boycott Americanl Idol is season 5 and beyond

Hey folks...remember commercial success, and true artistery sort of run into each other all the time, like strangers in a crowd. It's ok Carrie won, and Bo is just the real artist. Like the cliche...it's all good! Really I got over it all after an hour or so. This is life, its weird.

You know, being a rocker, I was really upset last night that Bo didn't win. I mean, come on, it was like seeing the Prom Queen being crowned!!!! Carrie has to be about the most boring soul to watch perform on the planet...

BUT we all know Bo rocks and atleast he's not stuck in that God awful AI contract. They would have owned him for what, 7 years!!

He is now FREE to sign on with Clive Davis or whoever is smart enough to pick him up and he'll be seperate from American Idol to do his OWN music...not stuff already written and picked out for him. I kinda think not winning was his blessing. He will be able to do his own music, his own way. When he sang Sweet Home Alabama, I about bounced right off of my couch!!!!! He ROCKED!

We have not seen the last of him.

Now, on to the next show...who's gonna watch...Who's the Next Lead Singer of INXS?
