Nah, my cats eat bugs and such all the time... the only thing to worry about is if she eats something poisonus, especially something like bees or wasps that have stingers... they can sting her mouth, or her throat and cause swelling, which can block her airways. If its just a plain old moth I think she will be alright

Thanks. I let her play with an ice cube and she was licking it like crazy so I know that she at least washed the moth down. Eww

Lol yeah, it can be pretty gross. But me, since I live up in the woods I actually rally my cats as "bug catchers." Especially for spiders, they scare me!!! Glad I could be of help

Just think of it as extra protein in her diet

My cat Ivo is a bug killer-moths, flies, even the occasional roach-she's killed and eaten all of these without any problems. It sure cuts down on the exterminator bills!

Eeks, you are so brave letting your cats eat bugs. I try to keep Meish away from bugs. Being new to the 'south' I don't know what bugs are bad and what are okay... blah.

Festus is my hunter. She has caught and eaten several bugs that I have seen, no telling how many she caught that I missed! If it grosses you out, next time don't watch!

I saw Meishka's post on the catspeak board, she is over their bragging about what a great fierce hunter she is! (LOL)

Dushka caught and ate a huge moth once - 6 inches across at least! But it didn't do her any harm. What is worrying me is that I found a snake in the house the other day - minus head and tail! But the cats seem fine.

My old cats used to be bug hunters too. If I saw a spider in the house I'd run and grab a cat to help me 'fight' it

(I was only about 8 at the time and scared of anything with more than four limbs!)

Sadie aka Mothra, loves to mess with moths. The only problem I have found is her occasional ... moth breath.

I kiss her anyway because she is so sweet.

I second Gilly's opinion on the headless snake in your house

Molly and Tibby are bug munchers and they have never done them any harm either!

Molly has come over to see me with the wings of a butterfly and legs of a Daddy Longlegs hanging from her lips!
Tibby is my super spider catcher - he won't give up until it's munched! (he never looks like he really likes the taste though!

Gracie has been totally obsessed with bugs since she was a kitten, hence her nickname - "Little bug." She go after any kind. Sometimes she catches them outside on the porch and brings them inside to play with. Gross!
Last year when we were innundated with cicadas she went crazy watching them from the windows and she seemed sad when they died off.

I tried getting Meish to go after an ant today.... she appeared bored with it. LOL I guess she only likes things that fly or hop

Mine sit and watch ants for hours - it's how I know when we have them in the house! But they never try to catch them, maybe they are too small.

Yeah, Nano likes to use moths for target practice. Hasn't harmed her yet.
