I will call you Angel.

It's taken me a long time to write this as I was more traumatized by this passing than of my own cat. About 4 weeks ago I saw a set of kittens born to a ferral Mom in the shelter. The next week when I came in to clean I found one of them had died over night. So farewell sweet kitten, you were only a week old, but please wait for me over the bridge I'll come get you. Since no one had yet had a chance to name you I will call you Angel.

How sad for little Angel. If even for a short time, if even after her passing, Angel knows your love for her. And that's all we can ever ask for.

I'm so sorry that you had to lose a kitten; that can never be easy. I'm sure Angel will be happy over Rainbow Bridge.

I just hate fading kitten syndrome. You know what the end will be, but you still try everything to prevent it.
It doesn't make things easier

Thanks so much for the support. At first I felt a little funny about being so upset about this. It wasn't my kitten, but this is the first litter of kittens I've actually seen born. It was just so hard to have to be the one to find Angel.

Feelings don't have to make sense! How lucky Angel was to be loved and missed. I thought about naming the one we lost yesterday Angel, but we already had a kitty in the past named Angel. Our Angel was a wonderful kitty, but had been severly injured as a baby. (That is why she was named Angel.) She lived a long happy life, and is over the bridge now with all the tiny angel babies. I'm sure she will be good to them.
