Well I examined my kitty's bottom this evening, and I noticed that she had yellow discharge, and I'm assuming this is the mucus plug.

I've looked at other threads and some people have said Oooh this means it's soon, like in the next 24hrs or so, and another Oooh this means it's in a week or two. So I'm a little confused..I can't really find any information about it, other than using the pregnancy calender previously posted. And going on the day I think she got pregnant the calender predicts that she'll have her babies on the 29th, but looking at the calender and it's signs:

Sat 28 May 105 \t

* Twelve to 24 hours before she is due to deliver, the queens rectal temperature may drop from 38.5 to 37.5 degrees Celsius.
* Clear or blood-tinged discharge from the vulva might occur.

The red portion seems to have occured today, so I was wondering if you had an information about the mucus plug, and whether or not it means labour soon.

If she is having some bloody discharge, I think that means delivery is imminent. If nothing happens withing 24 hours, I would suggest you see a vet. (I'm sure other, more experienced people will post soon!)

I think there may have been some dried blood (pea-sized), but it was hard to tell, mostly yellowish discharge (but I'm sure the mucus plug can be bloody/or like a clear/yellowish/greenish/brownish discharge..?)

Anyway so far no kittens, and no more replies

thanks so far..

The book I used as my bible when I was a breeder, said that blood tinged mucous meant babies should arrive within 36 hours, and that was always the case for my cats, unless there was a problem.

CJ had a yellowish discharge about a week before she had her kittens, and then a pinkish/reddish discharge the same day she had them, so it should be fairly soon! Good luck!
