O-H-I-O!
I heard on the radio a few months ago about a food challenge. One of the DJ's said that she tried Purina One (they have different types and flavors) and gave a number for a free 3lb bag. I've been trying this for a while now. She said it is supposed to make your cat have more energy, make their fur softer and shinier and have less dry skin. I have the Toatl nutrition and can see a difference already! Oscar is more playful and his fur has less dander. Just wondering if anyone has tried this and wanted to know your story? Oh and if anyone wants the number for the free bag, PM me and let me know. Hope to hear some stories!

I have always liked the Purina feeds ... I used them with my horses when I was breeding and training them and I have also used them with specific cats in the past. Their specialty line of prescription foods (DM Diabetic Maintainance) proved to be the proverbial miracle in a can for one of my diabetic kitties.

In fact, I started out feeding Purina One when I began breeding my current cats and liked it for them a lot. Unfortunately, both decided they no longer wanted it after a time so I was forced to find another food.

I may try to go back to it and see how my kitties like it now - they are beginning to shun the Nutro and I need to look around some more. I wish I could feed some of the better, less processed foods though, but they just aren't available in my area readily. My local Petsmart only carries their own store brand, Iams, Science Diet, Nutro and Purina One.

Wanna send me that number?

Rosie and Sophie have both been on Purina One for a long time now and their coats are shiny and soft, and their teeth and eyes are sparkling.

My vet also approves of it, so if she gives it the thumbs up then i'm more than happy!

They also do the 30 day challenge over here or your money back but i havent needed to get in touch

Up until now, I thought Purina was bad nutrition because of by products and other low quality ingredients. I have been buying some very expensive food for my cat and it doesn't seem to be making his coat healthier and he is still not playful at all. Maybe I will try Purina One. Thanks for starting this thread, Oscarsmommy.

Thank for starting the thread Oscarmommy
I have to say. I dont use Purina One, But have NOTHING against it. In fact I use Purina Pro plan
but One and Pro plan are very compairable. And yes. I have to say when I moved them to the "higher class" Purina. They were getting Cat Chow/Indoor Cat Chow Mix, although they never had a huge problem. with dander or coat. I noticed a BIG diffrence, when i moved over to Pro plan
and i LOVVVEEEE PURINA!

I especially love the pro club rewards for having so many animals...and lovvee collecting those weight circles

I have tried several expensive cat foods over the last couple of years and Purina One is the only one that mine absolutely love. I bought some Purina Pro Plan a couple of weeks ago and they didnt like it at all. Purina One is the only one that my cats dont throw up. With as many as I have its hard to find one they all agree on and they love the Chicken and Rice formula. I am down to my last scoop in the cat food bin today so I have to go get more in the morning. The price is good too. My dogs eat Pro Plan, they like the Chicken and Rice dog formula too. I was concerned that I wasnt giving them a good food but since they like it so much, and the ingredients dont seem all that bad so Purina One it is for now.

I tried that out, my cats refused to eat it, and when they did, they threw it back up. Back to the Science Diet CD food for them.

I too have tried more expensive foods - Wellness and Chicken Soup - dry and canned. My cat won't touch the canned and was somewhat indiffent to the dry. She eat it because it was there. Sometimes she would sniff the food and then try to cover the dish. She either had smelly stools (Wellness) or hard stools (Chicken Soup).

We've had better luck with SD or Iams. She's Iback on SD lite now. I've been thinking about throwing a handful of Purina One Weight Mgt in with the SD.

I've been feeding mine Purina One since last fall and they love it. I've notice a definite improvement in Katie's energy level (she's 12), as well as no more dander in her coat. She's black, so it was very noticable. When I adopted Pete in Jan. I was initially feeding him Iam's kitten but, after getting a taste of the Purina One, he was hooked too. I'm usually able to find coupons for it and our local Pet Supplies Plus runs specials, so an 18 lb bag end up being very reasonable.
