My co-worker (owned by 3 cats) and I have this theory that social workers are all hard-core cat-lovers. In fact, when she was a college professor teaching social work, she'd tell her students that they might as well go ahead and adopt a cat because it would be inevitable as a social worker!

Going on this theory, I figure that we have quite a few social workers here at TCS. So social workers, raise your hands!

I'm a social worker!!! When I visit a client at their house, it often makes my job more fun!! During the initial visit, the paper work can take anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes. I have found that, if a client has a pet, I can sometimes use that as a springboard to relate to the client.

One of my closest friends is a social worker.
She has two cats, one is almost 16 y.o. and the other is about 10. Total cat lover!

Thanks guys for your tales. You're helping my co-worker and I prove our theory that MOST social workers are cat lovers

I'm a social worker! I got my BSW in 2003. I worked briefly as a case manager, but I can't find a job in social work that is flexible enough for me to take grad classes. After I finish seminary I plan on getting an MSW so that I can be a pastoral counselor and get plenty of certifications (family therapy, trauma specialist, etc).
