is eating too much can cause a soft poop?, my kitten is 5 months old and small eater but yesterday he really pigged out, he had normal poop last night but this morning is very soft and doesn't have much appetite, could this be from overeating yesterday?

It's very possible. They can get the same stomach upsets as we do. Keep an eye on him, and if it's doesnt improve, I would set up an appt to have a fecal sample tested.
