I know there are a lot of things that say they remove the odor, but those icky spots that show up when you have the black light on are gross. How do I get rid of those?
I tried petzyme from petsmart and I still see the spots, I would love some opinions so that I don't waste too much $$ trying things and I can buy a better product that might cost a little more.
THank you!

I had a problem with the 2 persians I had for a few months.
One or both was peeing on the carpet.

Someone on this site said to try vodka, (the cheaper the better).
IT DOES work.
I looked like an alcoholic carrying out 2 big bottles of vodka, but .......

Ok... This technique only seems to work when its fresh, you know, when its still wet: Pour a cap full of Clorox into the puddle of urine, and watch what takes place. The chemical reaction between the ammonia in the urine and the chlorine in the clorox will neutralize the whole mess and then its easy to clean up.

I have blue carpet in my house, and when my older cat pee'd in a corner, the carpet would be darker in that area. I went to petsmart and found this stuff called Simple Solutions, its in a squeeze bottle, and I saturated the carpet, let it penetrate for 10 minutes, dabbed it and rubbed the place where the spot was, let it dry for 48 hours (it took that long) and then vaccuumed it. Not only did the smell vanish, but so did the stain.

Copy and paste this into your browser....if it doesnt work, then got to petsmart.com, click on cats, click on stain and odor, and then the products will come up. The simple solutions works on vomit stains as well.
Good luck!

I haven't luckily had that problem with my kits, but with my dogs, vinegar and water usually took care of the problem when they had an occasional accident.

So this product works pretty well? Does anyone know if it works on older stains, ie the urine has drived for a few days? One of the boys peed in their cat bed and I didn't find it until the urine had already dried. Needless to say I threw out the bed but now I have this lovely yellowish spot on the cream colored carpet.
