Kitty coughing?

My cat Tehya was a stray when we picked her up; a rainy Washington day, in an old trailer park. Ever since we brought her home about 2 months ago, she has had this awful cough... not all the time, but every once in awhile it will crop up and then it goes away. Is there maybe something wrong with her lungs, or is there something else that I'm not thinking of? Thanks for your input!!!

A cough can indicate a parasite infestation (roundworms, lungworms, heartworms), a heart problem, pneumonia... to name a few. I think this likely warrants a vet visit.

asthma is always a possibility too. I agree vet visit ASAP.
