I'm so sorry, but I need to vent. My brother, who is 5 now, is extremely annoying. Mom refuses to teach him any disipline. He hits when he's mad, (I admit I tease him a bit
) he screams and whines and carries on when he doesn't get his way, and he bothers our dog.

Its hard to live with him, yet allow study for a test I have as big as a high school SAT(its about 100 questions
).

Oh, Jenny, you are playing this all wrong! My kids are each about 5 years apart, and let me tell you, the older kids can RULE the little ones if they really try.

1. Stop picking on him and teasing him.

2. Start watching to see how you can influence him to do things your way.

For example, my 16 y/o will buy my 5 y/o snacks from the snack machine at school. He gains the little guy's trust, then when they play video games, the little guy lets the big brother play "the hard part". So they are playing the game together, with the big boy playing 75% of the time, at the little guy's request!

Start looking at the situations you have with your brother, and see how you can use the wisdom of your years to promote peace and an adoring young slave!
Remember, the whole idea is that you are both on the same team!

Thanks so much.

It is certainly worth a try. And remember, the SAT is a standardized test. It is checking what you have learned. Do you do well on other standardized tests?

Oh. Then I guess you better get back to the studying. I had to take a huge test to get my nurses liscense. The results came to me by mail. Honestly, the first thing I thought when I read that I had passed the test was "I'm so glad I don't have to take that test again!" Then it was "I'm a nurse!"

Good luck with your huge test. You are very smart, and I know you will do well on it!

Oh boy, sorry to hear about your bothersome brother. Maybe a big hug and very wet kiss from his big sister will "shock" him into good behavior and avoid you entirely!

Aw, thanks so much!
Yeah, I have quite a bit to do. The test in on Thursday. I'm taking a little break from studying right now, but soon I've got to get back.

Oh Jenny, I'm sorry! I don't have any brothers or sisters so I don't have any good advice for you. Be sure to remind him of this time 10 years from now when he brings his first girlfriend home to meet his family
I hope you get some peace and quiet soon! I have to warn you, though. If you think the noise and distraction of your little brother is interrupting your studying, wait til you get to college
