I'm posting this for a new member who is having problems posting...

************************************************

I have a 3 year old male cat Salem which I had neuteured when he was 1.

my question is about my daughter's pregnant cat.
They don't live with me so I can only nag so much about getting her cat spayed.

Chewy her cat is pregnant, as her "indoor cat" escaped and of course got pregnant.
My question is: the cat has been bleeding just tiny amounts for the last few days.
I have told her over and over to take her to the vet but hey, there's just so much nagging a mom can do right? She says that Chewy is only drip, dripping small amounts of blood from time to time and seems fine otherwise. so what the heck..I don't have a clue.

when did she get pregnant roughly? does she look ready to have the kittens?

if not she might have an infection or be losing the babies. or at a push might not infact be pregnant but have a cyst or something equally as nasty.

if so your daughter is in serious danger of losing her cat if she doesnt at least call the vet.

please tell her most vets give free advice over the phone.

from a website about pregnant cat care:

Vaginal Bleeding: Vaginal bleeding during pregnancy is not normal and suggests that she is aborting the litter. If this is occurring late in pregnancy (the 8th week) she may be delivering the litter prematurely and a cesarean section is likely necessary. In either case, have the vet check her to assess the blood loss and decide what to do.
