After spending a fun, but exhausting, weekend helping to babysit my nieces and nephews I have even more respect for the patience and dedication it takes to be a parent. My oldest brother and his wife were out of town for the weekend, so my mother and I stayed at their house with my niece, age five, and nephew, age 14 months. On Sat. and Sun, my other brother and his wife were working, so we also had my other niece, who's almost 10, and nephew who's 3 months old. I do a lot of babysitting for them, but never for such an extended period of time. Between entertaining them, feeding them, getting them ready for bed and for church on Sunday morning, it was crazy!
I have a whole new respect for parents now, so to those of you with human children, my hat's off to you. I love my nieces and nephews, but have to admit I was relieved to get home yesterday and see the kitties. We all took a nice long nap!
