Hey everyone, I have a gorgeous blue tabby named Neko (Japanese for 'cat') and I'd like to try entering him in some shows. He's not pedigree or anything, but aren't there cat shows that have 'non-pedigree' sections? And if there are, how can I find some in my area? Thanks so much!

Hi there,

Yes there are some shows that have a "Household pet" class. I'm not too sure how you could find them in your area, but how about using google.com to search for Washington cat shows or something?

Good luck - I've been showing my cats since I was two years old.

You are in luck, there are a fair number of shows in WA state, between the various associations. Your kitty will have to be registered to show - as a household pet (aka HHP). Here is the show schedule for the upcoming months for TICA (a very friendly to HHP association, imo):
click here for TICA show schedule look for those located in WA state. Each show has a clickable link so you can find out how to apply, what the entry fee is, where to send your show entry info. and check.

Here is the application to register a Household Pet in TICA

Have fun!
