Hi all!

I've been a lurker here since November. Our Molly was ill and I found this site while looking up symptoms. Unfortunately we had to put Molly to sleep the day before Thanksgiving. Yes, it still hurts.

We adopted Abby from a local shelter in January. She is a little over one year old. Molly was 12 when we lost her and 4 when we adopted her. Oh my, we are not used to little kitty antics in this house! She can be zooming around the house one minute (I think she is going to hurt herself some day soon) and then she is fast asleep 30 seconds later.

Abby had been at the shelter for only a few weeks when we adopted her and they were not able to provide any background info other than what town she was picked up in. One thing that concerns me is that she is still very skittish. It's not constant like it used to be, but sometimes we get the arched back, sideways walking, galloping away from you kitty. Sometimes she acts like we regularly beat her. Other times she comes up to you purring and rubbing your legs. I suspect she has been hurt by people in her past. She really runs if you walk near her with something in your hands. Does anyone have any suggestions to gain more trust? We had a tough start of it with her because after her first vet visit we had 4 different medications to give her twice a day. We have been past that for 2 months now.

I also have feeding questions and she does have a behavioral problem (ripping out the fur on her back sometimes). Should I post about these in the other areas?

Thanks for letting me be a part of this great site!

Thank you all for the warm welcomes.

I have just been "playing" on Photobucket, so this is a test to see if I can get Abby's pictures on here
