Hi - my cat had three kittens just two weeks ago but we keep finding her running behind one of the living room chairs with one of the kittens - the first born and biggest.

Our cat is only just over a year old and she is quite dainty - I am getting worried that she does not have enough milk and is choosing to feed the fittest

I am worried about the others although she hasn't harmed them she never picks them to run off with. My kids are very upset by this too and worry that she maight leave a kitten somewhere and it would come to harm. Should I just trust my own cats instincts or should I try and get advice about bottle feeding the others?

Is your cat just dumping off the kitten and leaving it, returning back to the nest, or is it staying with the bigger kitten and abandoning the others? If the mom is abandoning a kitten (or two) there is a possibility that the kitten(s) are ill and mom will sacrifice the ill kittens for the sake of the healthy ones. If she is just going back and forth all the time between the two places and kittens then you would need to enclose her in something smaller so she can keep the family together. Is the bigger kitten squishing his siblings by sleeping on top of them or pushing them off her nipples? She could be trying to keep all the kittens safe, it really just depends on her actions with them.
