I love to test software and recently I've been testing Netscape 8 (beta) and Opera 8.0. I haven't used Internet Explorer for a couple of years due to security issues and the fact it's buggy (like so many Microsoft products). I love Netscape 7.2, but since testing Opera 8.0, I now cannot decide which one to use regularly. Opera seems to load webpages much faster. I swear it's on speed!!

What browser do you prefer?

I use Mozilla. It's pretty close to Netscape, but has a few more adjustment options. Sometimes sites wont load on it though, and I'm forced to use EI. I still like it though.

I use Mozilla Firefox. I used to use Opera, and before that Netscape. Yep, Opera is definitely a fast little b*gger, but I kept having issues with it not displaying web pages properly and freezing up on me. I am so totally happy with Firefox!

I use Opera. Firefox and Netscape are both Mozella based, and they don't have the capability to view a lot of websites properly. When I first started on the Internet, I used Netscape, then I found out the difference when I started using Internet Explorer. However, because Explorer is not so secure, I was told that Opera was the best and the fastest browser and it is, plus it has the capabilities to view websites the way they were written to be viewed.

I use Firefox because of the nifty cat theme that you can download to go along with it- ok, not really, but it is cute! Especially when the cat bounces the ball when a page is loading.

I like Mozilla's ethics. It's really the same reason that I use Open Office and will eventually use Linux. I like the ethics behind that whole movement.

The only time I use Internet Explorer is when I'm taking an online class. For some reason Firefox won't let you copy and paste onto Moodle (an online classroom program set up similar to a message board) unless you happen to be good with computers and can figure out how to get past it.

Opera here -- both at home and in my office -- despite the fact that the office standard is IE. Fortunately our IT guy is just as anxious about Microsoft's security issues as I am, so he doesn't give me any grief.
(That also means he doesn't give me any grief about using Eudora instead of Outlook.
)

I didn't know version 8 was out. How is it?

I really like it. I've had various versions of Opera before, but never could "part" with Netscape. Version 8 just really seems to load pages extremely fast and the pages seem to display as well as IE so far. When I reply to a post at TCS, Netscape took like a minute to load the window, but with Opera, it loads in about 10 seconds or faster.
